Well folks, these past couple of months have been interesting to say the least. I am, of course, referring to the obvious - that EA as a company is adrift in some kind of mist and might just be in danger of folding...

There's been more than one thread here - the subject of which - has been EA's laughable excuse for a commerce website. I swear, the people who run EA's online presence have now officially gone from obviously inept to somewhere around completely hopeless and absolutely trying to sabotage EA from within.

For the past month or more, I've been able to bypass the mainstreet EA.store by using the backdoor that BeaIank posted a couple weeks back - and make purchases at store2.origin.com.

Well, they've now discovered that "hole" in their "stop all online income for EA" strategy - and if you go to www.store2.origin.com you will be re-directed to the impossible to purchase www.origin.com domain....

And you tell me exactly how I am being paranoid?

After all, just sayin...............

The problem is that I am trying to make a purchase at the store using the (until now) reliable store2.origin link, but it now re-directs to the ea.store which will complete no sales.

Not sure how else to say it...

ive purchased everything from game time codes to in game items this week last week and the week before and havnt had a problem at all other then a couple codes having the "-" in the wrong place.

is it your credit card that isnt working with their site?

@ Lord Nabin & Voodoo BM... That was yesterday... I bought a token yesterday. I've bought no less than 7 tokens over the past 2 weeks at the store2.origin link, but not now... Try it now.

That problem first showed up about two months ago... and it is yet to be fixed. :/

I doubt so. It is happening to lots of people, many from the US as seen on that thread on EA forums, and it is happening with all their products. Even big names like Battlefield and FIFA are losing sales from this problem.

It might be account related because I couldn't pay with mastercard, visa or paypal at all.
My credit cards were charged $1 at each transaction attempt, so the problem is with their end. Paypal failed to generate the invoice as well because of their system.

And this means that I won't be able to renew two of my accounts that expire at the beginning of October... Hooray for Origin. :/

No offense but is has always been a well known fact that EA has always had issues running anything other then the actual game.
Doesn't make it right but it just is what it is.

Incessantly posting about it is your prerogative but it sure appears that not only are you beating it to death you are also trying to discredit the company and bash the game by always saying that it is dying or near the end.
If the game is so bad why do you keep on buying a lot of codes?

Have you not also tried to rally people into complaining on these boards? Seriously?

I get an INVOICE FAILURE every time I make an order but my friend can do it just fine.

I bought a 6 months game time code yesterday with no issues or problems.

As did I. I've had no issues buying anything from the store, except for the well-known, highly-documented email format bleep for the codes themselves. What my entire GUILD is having issues with is adding subscriptions to our accounts. All our credit cards fail and we're returned, "Error on page. Click here to return to the homepage." We have all called our credit companies to make sure they do not have blocks on EA or any of EA's subproducts (I suggest you do that!). They are not even getting the requests for payments to deny is what they tell me.

We have a ticket that Pandy has put in to try to resolve that issue which has been ongoing for over a month. Until then we're stuck buying game time coupons and adding them in one at a time (once we rework the formats). Annoying, but it isn't stopping us from playing.

It seems that they added the option to generate an invoice to be paid at any bank for the Brazilian store.
With that, I can actually order more gametime. Sure, it takes 5 days to process and for me to get my keys, but at least I will be able to continue playing UO and giving it my money.

I still prefer to see the bloody Invoice Failed error fixed. :/

My current issue with the billing is that when you go to renew a sub, it list all the saved credit cards there... and while I can highlight them, it won't select it or allow me to go forward. I have to put in a NEW credit card. Incidentally, if your bank is like mine and when your back card expires, they just give you the same number with a different exp date. The EA billing site won't let you add a card with the same number and you can't delete the old one.

I ended up going to the Origin store and buying a 6 month code.

I can't even begin to comprehend what idiots are in charge of that. If I was a stock holder in EA (all my stock is in Coke, Apple, IMB, Microsoft and infrastructure) I would file suit against the company for it's inaction over the loss of revenue over this extended period of time.

Well the part where you say u can't update ur cc card expire date is wrong. Although hard to see where to do it if ur not looking. There is a thread on it somewhere. I'm on my phone so I'm not going to go through and link them. It will take too long. But as I recall u got to update subscriptions and maybe one other step as if ur going to renew but somehwere along the way in top right of screen there is an option to edit ur card info as in add new expire date. I found it on my own when I had to do it but also saw peopke put in the info on how to do on multiple account issue renew threads.

Top right corner under manage accounts... given how they named account management / current account, I assumed that was for your game accounts, not credit card accounts....

more bad design.

I just got a 30 day game time code 10 minutes ago. No issues. Swift smooth transaction via the UO store by use of paypal. *shrugs*

After some issues logging into and then finalizing my order at the Origin (powered by EA) store 24 hours ago I have been consistently informed that my code is invalid. This hasn't happened to me before and I have purchased a lot of codes throughout the last year. I am making sure to copy and paste it precisely (no space at the end, etc.) in game with different characters and no luck. I am hoping that the claiming of codes is just down for the moment... but it's definitely annoying.

I'll have to start calling this the Origin (disfunctional thanks to EA) store.

Ok last I heard on the codes is that the dashes are in the wrong place or not there at all. There was a sticky thread ontop uohall about how to input the codes since ea cannot for some reason send them out correctly. I haven't heard of tthem fixing this so copy and pasting ur codes won't work until u add the dashes in the correct places. Hope that helps ya. ;)

You have to reformat those codes. They are being emailed in an incorrect format. This has been documented on Stratics, here is the link... hopefully that helps you!

When you select the subscription, and go through the screens, you'll get to this page:




See the red circle in the corner... that takes you to credit card billing management which looks like this:



I've blurred my stuff, but yeah you can see for my accounts... I haven't been able to resub since August 8th in the traditional way. It just fails on both cards I have. I've tried to blow them out and re-add them and nothing. So I've been using game time coupons.

Trying again today and instead of using my usual CC (which is good and has been good for a decade of buying at the store) I tried to use PayPal for payment.

The result is the same: Invoice failed.

They know. But it's just 1 of the other 1000 fires they have to deal with on a daily basis. Tech guys are like "We are working on it as hard as we can and we are on the phone with the software developers who don't know how this could happen" and the bosses go "Work faster I need to worry about my golf game."

Pretty much how every thing gets handled in a large corporation.

I used my regular debit card like always have been able to buy whatever I want off Origin.... I do have to fix the codes... but no problems here.

Pretty much how every thing gets handled in a large corporation.

Middle managers would be aware. Senior managers might. Board of director members, nah. I would be surprised if they ever heard a peep during their infrequent meetings.

If you look at their bios, you'll see that some directors serve on the boards of other entities besides EA. It's very common. While their loyalties may not be divided, their attention certain is.
