Veteran titles - surely this HAS to be a bug...?

Nice idea, all the ones relevant to my account ages are in the lists for my characters... but there's a problem.

When I try choose any of them, they state in the gump to apply them that they are linked to a specific skill, all seem to be spellcasting skills, (Magery, Necromancy, Spellweaving...) and I can't use any of them on my characters unless I happen to have that precise skill - so no titles if you are a tamer, warrior, crafter, bard unless you also happen to have a sideline in a casting skill..

That can't possibly be right!

Well that's ... confusing. If I pick the title and choose 'apply', it stays on the same gump and looks to have failed, even though it shows if you subsequently mouse over the character.
