Got an Email stating that I received a code due to an assigned case number. I have not summited any tickets nor have I paged a GM with any problems in a long time. Doesn't this seem alil fishy? It ask me to log into my account to view the details but needless to say im alil leary to do so. The code was email to me but do I dare use it?

I would either delete it as stated or contact customer service and verify the code

Whenever an email asks you to login to your account for something like this and has links in it... and you don't expect that email... Well, it probably isn't legit. Never click on the links in emails like this, though often if you hover over those URLs you'll see some funky address that's obviously a fake. If you go to account management, type the URL in yourself and go in via the official website.

If the email address was the one you use for your UO account then I would immediately do a virus/malware scan on your system, then once you verify it is clean, change your email password ASAP. Depending on what else that email is used for, you may want to change other passwords that might also have been compromised if someone hacked it. If you have a compromised email address, you might also want to setup a fresh email address for your account and changing to that one.

It might also be worth keeping the email until you've discussed it with customer services in case they want to look at the email itself or want info from the headers etc. Take note of any case reference number from the email as well as the code so you can ask them to verify whether the code is legit or not and why you got it. It sounds like more of an account management/customer services type of email rather than one from a GM call.

How do I change my email to a new email in the account management page? Changed all the account passwords.

Hmm, having just looked at the account management system, that's a good question! I always figured there would be an option under the contact information tab but that seems to be missing an option to change your contact details *facepalm*

I suspect this might be something you have to do through customer support, but I've never had to do it, so I can't say for certain if that's correct or straightforward. It should be, but seemingly simple tasks aren't always as simple once they hit EA ;)

Sorry that's not much use to you, but hopefully someone else can jump in at this point and be more useful.

I think they made it exceedingly hard to change your email address when they decided to make it your EA account name. :(

Several people have been awarded codes for various past problems, failures with Origin store, problems with Atlantic shard. I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand as not legit, but I also wouldn't follow any links in the email itself to try the code.
I would log in the usual way, through the link on uo.com and try the code. It could be real.

It is exceedingly hard multi-step process to change the email attached to BOTH your Mythic game account and Origin/EA Master Account, but it can be done and I just did this exact thing. Be prepared to spend a couple hours to do that.

Step 1.
Go through the customer service steps for Mythic to have CS call you back, and then ask to have your UO account email address changed for each UO account. I was told it must be a call-back and can't be done through online-chat. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR SECRET QUESTION SET UP BEFORE HAND, ACCOUNT PASSWORD FOR EACH ACCOUNT, AND KNOW THE ANSWER AND OTHER ACCOUNT DETAILS BECAUSE THEY WILL ASK YOU FOR ADDITIONAL INFO TO CONFIRM YOU ARE WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE. It then takes about 10 minutes or so for the email address change. Thank the Mythic CS for their help - be nice and things go smoothly.

WARNING - Mythic will remove your UO game account from the Origin/EA master account list in order to change the email address attached to the account.

Step 2.
Go through the customer service steps for Origin to contact CS. I used the online chat for this process. Ask to have your Master Account email address changed. Thank the CS rep for their help. Niceness really pays if something goes wrong.

Step 3.
Log in to your EA Master Account and re-attach each UO game account to your EA Master Account. This part always confuses me and takes way longer than it should, and is way to easy to screw up and have to start over.

Step 4 - Optional.
While you are in the Master Account page, change your passwords to a strong password for each game account.

Summary - Changing email can only be done through Mythic and Origin/EA Customer service, but it can be done, is a pain-in-the-ass, and will take a bit of time. Be patient and nice to the people helping you and it will go more smoothly.
