Hi everyone, this is a note to update everyone on a transfer bug which happened on me - such that you could possibly avoid it, and, seek an official and satisfactory answer from UO Devs. You be my judge. You might call me a dumbass, but anyways... truth & reality will reveal itself in due course.
Character Transfer Bug
My character: procurement guy - was happily shopping in Atlantic, some legendary items bought from UOSS traders, some armor, artifacts, slither, transfer tokens, among other things such as saws, enhancement tools, worth about 2 to 3 billion in-game gold (which i bought with cash, yeah!). After concluding my trades, i went to luna 2f bedroom, launched of TRANSFER TOKEN (which i bought from vendor at stupid ATL price of 79M, so it's definitely legit).
Being freshly returned to UO for about a month, i just didnt want to screw up my transfer, i.e. click the WRONG shard name. So i closed the transfer gump, and restarted the transfer process. I took immense care like 10min to ensure i locked on to FORMOSA, which happens to be my home shard. Pressed the OK or GO button, i cant remember. And trasnfer process began.
Instead of being booted out of game, and wait out the due time needed for transfer. I remained ingame, with my character hidden, muted and unable to perform anything at all. Not even to page for a GM. Super right? I tried logging on to my home shard, and it says a transfer is in process. So i cant.
Screwed i am, i paged for GMs in ATL, BAJA, and many other US shards. They have great customer service and really can raise customer expectations " your problem will be fixed in no time. We'll email you once the problem is fixed and keep you updated" Cool i got like 3 generic response emails. Thanks for reporting or thanks for your petition sort. No news.
Finally i wrote to Messana. She's great! Effective. Immediate response within 24 hours. But still, it took engineers about 20 days to fix my problem, since it occurred.
I was finally told NOT TO CANCEL CHARACTER TRANSFERS AND IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATE CHARACTER TRANSFER in order to avoid such problems. So guys, dont be a dumbass like me please. Do it swiftly and do it once. If you need to get out and redo transfer, wait for a while maybe....like a system reboot kind of wait.

Here's comes bigger problems, once UO Devs fixed my problems, great! I can log in! my procurement guy is free to move around. But jack! I LOST EVERY THING. My bank is empty, my backpack empty, the packhorse i had with me loaded with my FRIEND"S STUFF which i bought on behalf, ALL GONE.
I pose this QUESTION to every one, every player in UO who reads this.
1. IF this happened to you, and you lost 2 BILLION gold worth of items, would you ask UO Devs for compensation? Is that fair?
2. They took 20 days to unlock me. But this is a paid game. So should UO Devs credit me 20 days of game time?
I'll keep everyone informed of their solution, if any soon, such that, if you in future meet this problems, you'd know if you screwed yourself, or UO screwed you.
