Bug with Dark wolf and Bake Kitsunes when Fighting Baracoon at Champ Spawns.

There is a bug with Bake Kitsunes and Dark Wolf (necro summon).. Whenever you are doing Baracoon and the baracoon polymorphs your bake kitsunes into a rat man you cannot control them. Right now I think the bug is random because it only happens every now and then but with a dark wolf up the only way I could control the bake kitsune is after the baracoon had died and the polymorph affect wore off of the bake kitsune. My bake went untame this way... When it was polymoprhed I fed it and it went to Wonderfull yhappy... I say all follow me and it drops to extremely... I feed it again and wonderfully happy... I say all follow me and back down to extremely... I even unsummoned the dark wolf and re summoned it to see if that would fix it and it did not... Thre has got to be a bug/glitch here when fighting the baracoon using a dark wolf and two bake kitsunes, something to do with the bake kitsunes being polymorphed i think... Since the dark wolf is to control WOLFS I think it like forgets that my bakes are actually bakes and sees them as rat men so they dont listen or something? Can this please be fixed as it's quite aggrivating losing a pet due to a bug like this.


EDIT: Incase anyone is kind of puzzled... If you have necromancy and spirit speak and summon a dark wolf it allows you to control all wolf type creatures so if you have a tamed bake kitsune for instance in your stables then you can control it with a dark wolf... When the wolf is polymorphed though or bake kitsune polymorphed it doesnt like listen to you is what im trying to say because your dark wolf like doesn't realize its stil a bake and instead i guess sees it as a rat man or something i dont know.

Not that the bug shouldn't get fixed if it exists... but if you have necro and spirit speak wouldn't it be easier to use wraith form and a repond slayer for Baracoon?

is there much of a difference between two bakes and two vollems when hunting or I mean doing champ spawns? Bake Kitsune with my perserverence and resilience buff can effectively tank the baracoon for instance without much effort as far as healing with bandaids. How would a vollem compare, are they just as effective or a bit on the weak side or what?

I haven't really tested either of them so I am just making some assumptions based on what I know about each critter.

As far a hit points go, they seem like they are about equal... Around the 300 life range, so their survivability should be about the same.

Neither has pack instinct, so no difference there. Both fully trained I would assume comparable melee damage.

Best I can tell the difference comes down to more casting for the bake vs fire breath from the vollems. I don't have a lot of experience with bakes under a bard song to know how long it takes to run out of mana or how that compares to the damage over time from the fire breath. Under normal conditions I would say the bake would out damage the vollem until it runs out of mana. However, since Baracoon is generally weakest to fire, especially with a corpse skin, consistent fire damage from the breath attack might overtake the casting from the bake.

In the end I only suggest them because they would be an option that should have less risk of losing them.

Kinda makes sense in a way.

Barracoon is supposed to polymorph its attackers. Humans only get around it with the spellbook bug/trick right?
Pets obviously don't have this ability so they correctly get turned into ratmen which seems to be causing some ugly side effects.

Simple solution is don't use pets to attack Barracoon. There are a billion other monsters that your pets can be brutally effective against. Lay off Barracoon maybe since he has the ability to transform your pets?
Or solo Barracoon in a ridiculously short amount of time on your straight necro like everyone else has been doing for years. Maybe trying to chop off a few minutes by using pets isn't such a great idea after all?

IMO it is completely within the realm of possibility that total transformation into a new form would and could have nasty side effects which include your pet breaking and you losing him.

not trying to chop off a few minutes killing baracoon. I prefer to use pets. I know a sampire would do it much quicker and everything but I prefer pets. I just hate that when I use the things they may not listen and with dark wolf there should be a timer on your buff bar so you know when that thing dissapears... I will recall and I will still have it but then it will vanish at some random time and my wolfs wont listen to me anymore because of it and ill have to recast the dark wolf... There should be a buff timer for that and recalling with the necro would be nice.

Actually isn't changing attackers to ratmen part of the Baracoon's defence?

The reason I ask if the above answer is yes then it's not a bug and way for him to defend from attackers.

Do you have ANY taming or are u just using the Dark Wolf if so I believe that is the issue since they are rats and not wolves anymore. Also I belive somthing was done a LONG time ago making it so you HAD to have taming to use Bakes and not just the dark Wolve?? You should never had been able to contorl Bakes without taming that was what was fixed ???

Would like it if you could quote what was done a long time ago... Dark wolf allows you to control bakes, hell hounds, any kind of "wolf" related animal. No I don't have taming I am using the dark wolf to control the pets.

Yes Zosimus I already knew of that issue but if wasn't there something similar to this problem back when skeletal dragons would unbond pets? THe issue with this is that a person who uses a dark wolf without animal taming or animal lore when the pets turn into rats you cant control them and if you try to they go unbonded... Kind of lame. Obviously they allow people to control wolf type animals for a reason while using a dark wolf, so why not fix it so it doesnt screw people over in the process when their pets turn into rats?

Does anyone still run a sampire template with spirit speak? Thought that died out a while ago...
