Wanting to find my old old account...possible?

I had started playing UO near release, on my dialup modem as there was no readily cable internet yet. Yes it was a long time ago!!

I am not sure how old the account was but it is older than my last one. I "retired" it some time after trammel/felucca was introduced. Exact dates I cannot remember, heck I cant come up with reasonably good guesses!

I remember the character having a lot of (then) rare items and a neon blue beard that looked rather funny hehe. I also had a large tower but obviously that has decayed eons ago

I provided info such as my real name and character name as well as possible old email addresses and physical addresses to confirm ownership.

I sent the information to the support page http://www.uo.com/contact but when I hit the submit button I did not get a confirmation email and it just went back to the UO homepage. Is this normal? I would resend it but do not want to spam them.

I have played a newer account in the past couple of years but it has been inactive for some time. I rather missed my old character and ended up uninstalling.

Would like to be able to play my original character again even though it likely has an outdated or completely useless template. These things can be changed fast enough.

Anyone have any luck getting an old, very old account back in the past? Should I try a different form to send my information to? A different email address? Or just let my current query stand although I do not know if it went through properly?

I forget where the link is, but there was one for forgot account name or something similar. I put in my email and there was every account that I had ever had attached to my email. Even back before pre-tram.

If doesn't matter if it still exist or not. If you can get a human on the line that actually knows somethings and cares, they can look up that information for you.

That's what I had to do. Went looking for one, ended up with 2. I had forgot I even had the second one. Good luck.

why do people ask if uve got the orignal cd key..hell ill go out and buy 20 copies of the orignal release for a couple of bucks each at some old car boot sales or ebay ...etc etc....then ring EA and ask them to hook me up ''with my old accounts as i have the keys'' ....and hope i hit lcky lucky with someone elses old long forgotten accounts......Rightioooooo.....WTF....lol

Because the CD Key is very helpful in recovering lost accounts...
Believe it or not, some people still have them. I know I do, packed away in a box where I store my old PC games.

No, it's not perfect considering some people sell their CDs with the cd key still in the box, but it works.

If you can name some of the other details, like the holder name, account name, rough year of opening then yes you might get "lucky" THP, but otherwise I rather doubt it... however if you have the CD key it's corroborating proof you own the account, not instant proof.

As for the OP, when you have the details, you need to add "_UO" to the account name when registering it with Mythic don't forget. I recovered mine after a 6 year absence, not quite as long as yours, but all the characters and their remaining items (not many, I gave it almost all away) were still there.

I did have the account holder, username and whatnot. Even the old billing address. I sent the in my form letter in the link in my OP.

No, i sent it to http://www.uo.com/contact on their form. It did not give me a confirmation email or anything. It just took me back to the UO home page when I clicked submit.

Sent the e-mail with a couple extra pieces of information that may help them out further. Would be cool to see the old toon again!

EDIT: this time I did get a confirmation mail. So at least there is a good start!

No, it's not perfect considering some people sell their CDs with the cd key still in the box, but it works.

I still have my original box, code and map; the Second Age CD, map and code; the 3rd Dawn beta CD; the final release 3rd Dawn DC the AOS box and CD, map and code; the 7th Anniversary box, CD, map and code; the 9th Anniversary box, CD and code; and the Samurai Empire box, CD, map and code. I should be set if I ever need to recover my account.

Remember the original UO game box? It's HUGE!

Uh, ok...but while the code is very useful, you're still going to need more details than just that.

But hey, knock yourself out! Let us know if you can manage to guess the right info on a random code. Assuming it's even in the box when you order it and not an unused one

The easiest way to get it resolved is to open a ticket for them to call you back. I spoke with a guy who recovered my main 4 accounts using some old cdkeys, but he could have done it various other ways. (email addys, name of account w/ PW, etc)

He spent about 30 minutes on teh phone with me changing all my old accounts to my main email addy so i could reset the passwords and link them all to "one account" via mythics website.
