[Discussion] Returning player with a Newb question about Cursed Items...

Hi all,

(sorry for the newb question)
I just returned after a long break (5 or 6 year break) I been back a couple/few months now and was just curious are all cursed jewels/items garbage? good for unravel only? or do some PVM players actually use cursed items?


It seems that cursed items is all i get for loot and I been just using them to unravel for ingredients...

example:
I just got this bracelet...

Animated Bracelet of Slaughter
CURSED
swing speed increase 10%
Damage Increase 25%

seeing it is cursed I assume it's only use is to unravel it?

just curious if I see the word "cursed" should I just toss it in the unravel bag or do some players actually use some of the better cursed items?

Cursed items can definitely be used on crafters, thats what i do anyways. Also for specialized PvM templtes i think some people could temporarily use some very nice cursed gear..

Sorry to raid your thread badseed, but I had the same question and what about to post a thread until I saw yours. I recently got a brace:

Welcome Back - always good to see Vets comming back!

Cursed items are not only for unraveling - well most of them are thats true BUT they are perfect for building up chars AND, thats what i do and alot of other PvM'ers, for dungeon runs.
One of my Tamers is 100% using cursed items, especially if they are able to be repaired - BUT they are mostly Tamers/Mages/Weavers who are not doing any meele...

Some of the items are uber-ponded with stats and adds and are very usefull - usefull to fight for that one item that might be NOT cursed and hitting the Jackpot

Keep on collecting and have yourself some nice suits - ist kinda for free!

sure, depends on the imbuing weight if there is still space on it...

I have SSI 10 SI5 DCI 10 *cursed* , another nice lock down and one of my best " almost "
I use legendary jewelry for my sampire when farming , this and a good suit makes it easier

Thank you, It's good to be back...
I should of posted this long ago, I've unraveled many items that were just unbelievable... but I seen that "cursed" label and in the unravel pile they went ...(live and learn)

I do miss the good old days though... where we all had to race back to our body's before they turned to bones and got looted
and setting our characters up before logging out so we were ready to roll for "power hour" the following day....(the good old days before insurance)...

I was a bit surprised at how dead(empty) some of the shards really are though. I had to transfer to Atlantic to find population, once I got here, I said to myself "this is the UO I remember" felt just like home again....

I think of it this way - before insurance everything was 'cursed'. Didn't stop us playing, and we managed to keep the same kit for quite some time usually.

Cursed items like stated above do have use, both my samphire and pvm archer uses cursed jewelry but to get someone to buy them is hard, unless they are corpse anal like me (someone who always retrieve there corpse).... I normally buy up a lot of cursed jewelry but currently have the ones I need but there are people who buy ... But like said before a cursed item is really only use full to a PMV or crafter
