There should be a warning on the patch page: "The Publish 81 protection for pets does not for vollems, as we have discovered. We apologize and are currently working on a fix. In the meantime, please stable vollems before server maintenance to ensure they will not be lost."

I have a really easy fix for this bug. Spend 45 seconds to recall/gate to your nearest stable before you log out... Before you start with the "maintenance caught us!" Consider that server down messages start a while before the servers actually go down. There is no grey area anymore, as long as you stable before you lose connection you should be fine. Anyone who misses the dozen or so messages either A. crashed (sorry, sucks, I know) or B. was afk with a pet out near a known maintenance window, which I have zero sympathy for.

I never ever trusted server down time I had my pets stabled 2 hours before the server went down. Then I would decide to either get on my fisher, deco, watch tv, or go to bed. thats me though I cannot expect others to follow my example. I do feel for the players who lose their pets over things like this especially when its a very rare one like a dread mare.

As I said, Prior to Publish 81, I'd have accepted the warning to stable any pets to make sure. However, Publish 81 included alleged safeguards that I've already quoted. And what of a server crash, thankfully very rare now but still occurring once in a blue moon? A shard will go through the same maintenance that it's scheduled to each day.

I mentioned that there was once an exploit to uninsure others' items, which was never acknowledged. Can you guess what my "fix" was? I stopped PvPing on my main characters and relied on a scavenging stealther with throwaway armor. If bugs aren't addressed, players get discouraged and quit, and I all but quit for four years. Another person may not have bothered keeping multiple accounts open.

Sorry, but that is bad advice. The server maintenance has become much more reliable, but there are still times it reverts back several minutes. I lost a blue beetle loaded with BODs while going from smithy to smithy. I logged out 10 minutes before the announced server save, but the shard reverted back about 15 minutes.

I just can't believe all the heartless trolls in this thread who enjoy kicking a fellow player when knocked down... you people are pathetic.

Well I guess that I should believe it; this is UHall after all.
