When is 'Shame' Loot being rolled out across the board?

That's about 20 months now. We've had Shame, Wrong, parts of Covetous and I don't know what's going on with Despise.
Is there a timetable for this transition, or is all that junk I dig up when doing a t-map just getting in the way of alacrity scrolls?

Asked about this once to Mesanna when I begged that it be put into MIB's and T'Map loot..... She said.... "Well if we did that then why would anyone go to shame?" It's in those dungeons to get people to go to them... I suppose that makes sense but ..... I still wish MIB and T'Map loot didn't totally suck like it does.

So then there's no point in even mousing over any loot in a tmap forever. Thanks Messana.

I just wish people to traveling the overland to kill small spawn like in old days. We had a lot spawn in Britannia (Siege) in old days, now most are gone and no one, not even newbies use the overland f0r hunting.

Err....I only hunt overland on Siege. Guess I'm even less than a newb though for doing so.

How many do you see out there ?

I don't pick spots where I expect to see people. I don't play on Siege to engage in PvP. If someone finds me on Siege outside of guard zone and not by my house, that's likely to be the last time they see me in that spot for quite a while. My play style on Siege is to have a crafter and characters that support the crafter by gathering resources. If you're in a tiny guild or not in a guild at all, why would you try to do that by going to areas where you're much more likely to run into a PKer who will take any resources you've gathered? Kind of defeats the point of trying to go out and gather resources! And no, the character I hunt with most often has no hiding or stealthing skill. She's a peace tamer.

And before you start bashing my play style, please just stop and consider that it takes multiple play styles to make up the Siege community. We're not all extroverted PvPer/PKer types who enjoy confrontation or seeking it out every time we log in.

Tina you got me wrong, I love seeing all playstyles on Siege. Yes it do happen Freja kill a miner or lumberjack and it may be annoying but unless the miner or lumber keep stealing Tina Tinks good spots without mining/lumbering the less good ones to make them respawn, or I find a sleep walking miner, I won't loot and I will rez and be sure my victim is ok.
Where Freja enjoy PvP, Tina Tink don't PvP at all. If she get PK'ed, she will just take it with a smile and go on unless thy take her tools, then she may yell at them a little.
Siege would not have the great community we have without our more peace loving players.

Well damn, if that's the case they might want to remove reforging from UO, because that's what killed the loot system so quick.

EDIT: If there would be a way to remove a negative property from items... perhaps with a 7day cooldown per negative, or even make it expensive (gold wise) then the new loot system would become pretty popular again for sure.

Balance is key, people will stick with whatever is easier to farm/craft w/e, the end results are always the same.

I have always thought that a one use, account based item that would remove just one negative from any piece of Shame loot would be pretty cool.

Make it very hard to obtain in game or $19.95 at the store. I would be ok with it either way :)

I like the idea of there being different sorts of loot. It parallels the way there's different sorts of crafting.

This is an amazing idea indeed, who out there hasn't wanted to remove the three useless mods from an item:
1. -100 Luck
2. Bonus Durability Increase
3. Lower Requirements

All three of these mods can be highly annoying when trying to imbue attributes onto items that are just in Range of the 5 Mod cap restriction.

-Perhaps a solution to this would be to add extra functionality with Whetstones

1. Each Item given the ability to receive a Whestone application then becomes 'soul bound' or account bound, to prevent extra unwanted economic item fluctuation & spam.
2. Each item only given the ability to receive 1 application of a Whestone.
3. Whestone window gump auto analyzes what mods are removable, similar to clicking on a Soulstone in which opens a window showing which skills are removable from the players skill menu.
4. Whestones become stack able up to 5 charges similar to that of the Soulstone Fragment simply by dropping them onto another Whetstone.
5. Whestone charges x 5 or x 10 stacks become available for purchase in the store.

I think the proper response to that would have been "Well, If you can get VASTLY better loot in shame... why would anyone ever do treasure maps, or go to other dungeons?"

The loot change should be universal. If you want to get real creative have special properties that only spawn in certain places, so SOS and treasure chest loot can be different. Would require too much work im sure.

Farming loot in a dungeon, doing t-maps, doing MIBs, and killing event monsters are all mutually exclusive activities. They don't compete with one another because they are all different activities frequently requiring different characters. One of the best aspects of UO is the wide variety of activities to choose from. So the arguement against by Mesanna is pretty weak. It's taking that choice, one of the great things about UO away from us and saying we only want you playing in this one 10% of the game to get loot.

Not that I don't agree with you... that's just the answer I got. Not that I liked it much. All Loot needs to be looked at. Why go to Illsh? Nothing special there.. same old crap we've gotten for years... and with all the changes to suits and imbuing and all those old mini's are crap for the most part..... can't even be imbued but WHY?????? When you can do little to them to make them decent... and nothing to them to make them "over the top". Seems dumb... not to mention Doom/Malas/peerless stuff/ML/SE..... all meh....

Personally I think itemization in this game is FUBAR. There is no gradual progression, items are too muddled, imbuing and reforging are too powerful, you can only hunt potentially usable items from 3 dungeons... And I don't see how it can be fixed very well. If they depowered anything people would be stroking out left and right. :p

Oh I agree... I'd like to see them put some new AI into monsters... make some super hard to fight again.... and not just by giving them Kitchen Sink power... or just increasing HP.... I mean having them cure when poisoned, move out of the field if you try to cast a field.... move around fields if there is one in their path... Teleport to make you lose target... Tag team you if they have some sort of partner... disarm you... Move slightly faster... heal themselves better. etc... Need more things that a guild can do as a group.... less stuff needs to be soloable..... if everything can be solo'd what is the point of being in a guild or joining a guild? People take all the time about risk vs reward and fel and all but honestly the harder the mob the better loot you ought to get.... and they ought to put in an incentive for groups... Everyone is so greedy it's hard to get folk to want to group up for anything because everyone wants the "best" drop stuff for themselves... They should put in code that allows more loot to drop with the more folk that are hunting.... and the "difficulty" ought to increase as well when more folk are fighting. Somewhat like the more people go to Doom Gauntlet the more mobs spawn... I like that. That sort of thing should be a given...

Like a couple of friends and I went to Destard to look for a good greater.... 2 not even fully skilled fighters and a tamer just casting EV's were able to wipe out all the dragons spawned in there plus keep them down to spawning one by one.... That should NEVER happen. The spawners should notice that it's way below threshold and quicken the respawn rate... until it reaches saturation.... where it's respawning new mobs as fast as it's losing mobs. So that the next person to come into Destard finds dragons too...

Standing around waiting on crap to spawn for 10 min isn't fun.
