Kas, I just remembered something else. Probably not related, but it was pretty bizarre.
A few days ago, I think it was Friday, definitely after Origin and Izumo got Publish 82 but other shards had not, I was on Atlantic in Destard (Trammel). I was checking out the changes with using vet skill on Origin and wanted to compare to another shard that didn't have the publish yet. So I was killing stuff in Destard on Atlantic after doing the same on Origin.
Well, some guy came up to me and asked me to help him out with taming a regular dragon. He tried to tame one, but I never even saw the message about attempting to tame one go off. After a few minutes of that, he was going to just give up. I told him I'd tame him one, if he wanted one. After stabling my greater dragon, I went back and tamed him a dragon.
The first odd thing about this situation was that even with 120 (real) taming and 110 lore, it took maybe 3 attempts to tame the dragon. I thought that it was a little strange to need so many attempts, but forgot to lore it after taming to see if it was unhappy, which would have indicated it had been previously tamed and released (highly unlucky these days, but I guess a possibility on a shard like Atlantic) and therefore more difficult to tame.
The second thing that was VERY odd was that after transferring the dragon to the guy at the stable, I couldn't go anywhere. We were going to try to get a white wyrm in Ice, but when I tried to cast gate spell to go there, I got the message asking if I wanted to flee in the heat of battle!! I have no idea what made that pop up because as far as I know, I had not committed any criminal acts. Just tamed a dragon, gated it to the stable, and transferred it to some random stranger.
So, it's made me wonder if (a) the guy I transferred the dragon to was some kind of blue criminal. How he pulled that off, I don't know. Or (b) transferring a freshly tamed dragon to someone else is now a criminal act. Or (c) maybe it had something to do with city loyalties. The tamer I was using had no city loyalty. But the guy I transferred the dragon to had some title related to New Magincia, don't remember now what it was or the character's name. Maybe something is in the works making it impossible to trade stuff between characters who are loyal to different towns and it was somehow triggered with the pet transfer? It would explain why we suddenly got the ability to ignore trade requests.
I suppose another alternative might be that something is in the works to make the actual taming of a dragon a criminal act. However, I hesitate to say that's what it might have been because I clearly didn't get the message about fleeing when I gated out of Destard to the stable. I would have thought that it would have popped up at that point if taming a dragon is now a crime.
I honestly don't know what happened in your situation, or in mine either on Atlantic. I went ahead with that guy and got him a white wyrm and transferred that with no problem and then we immediately gated to Tokuno and I tamed him a rune beetle. There were no more "fleeing in the heat of battle" messages that came up after either of those additional pet transfers. I tend to think maybe there was more to the guy who wanted the dragon in the first place than I realize and perhaps I was being set up for a guard smackdown. I'll probably never know! However, in the back of my mind, I'm still wondering if something is in the works that somehow involves dragons and it just hasn't been completely turned on yet. If so, maybe it was triggered in your case too with the blues who were damaging and being damaged by dragons.
