Stealth is not working correctly. I have GM Hiding 80 Stealth and I cannot walk 1 tile w/ out reveal

10 - stealth - burglars
20 stealth - shadowdancer legs
20 stealth - jewelry
10 stealth - shroud

That's 80 stealth total plus GM hiding and all my armor is medable/mage armor... I am walking and i cannot walk 1 tile without it revealing me... Is this broken or what?

It is a long time since I worked Stealth but if I remember rightly the material of the armour you are wearing has a big effect on your ability to stealth. There is probably some info about this on these boards somewhere. You had to wear increasingly heavy duty armour to advance your skill. Remember Stealth goes to 120 so at 80 you are 40 points below max. Have you tried lighter material armour?.

Correct. Mage armor is irrelevant for stealthing. Its all about Cloth--> Leather --> Studded --> Bone --> Metal etc.

Try stealthing in nothing but cloth/leather armor and you should be fine. You like have some sort of mage studded or metal armor that is causing you to be revealed. Just because you can cast through it doesn't mean it doesn't clunk around.

So you have 0 real stealth? I think I have seen this problem before and it has to do with the fact that you don't have any "real skill" in stealth. Someone in the Crime forum had this issue and had it resolved by putting some "real" skill in. I will look in that forum later on and find the thread (unless you go looking for it in the meantime).

Because ou have ZERO actual skill spend like 10 points in real skill and then you should have no problem. If you just want 80 without giving up any real skill I would hope you fail as you sdont really have any skill, just items, that is one of the BIG problems with the crap templates out there now. items and oyu are like 880 skill points and its a joke .

But get some real skill and should be no problem.

And that's the way it should be, IMO... To be able to Stealth with zero skill is just a bit much, don't you think?

I had the same problem a couple years ago and never got it resolved...

all are right, but I'll tell you what I learned:

I have a ninja and play with him at 100% pvp; I have this ability in 120 stealth , 100 hide, ninja 120, etc...
well, If you are in an area, and if you have someone in stealth mode,and well likely that you or both are revealed.
will depend on the ability of the two, if yours is lower, it is almost certain that you will be revealed.
is clear that other options remain valid, if someone tripping over you, etc...

in more if you know how to fight, there is no ability to fight better than this, fighting an opponent at a time, of course!

Why would I want to even test such a gimp setup?
Besides, I am fairly certain that stealth has always been a bit tricky based upon passive detect/type of armor/real skill requirement/etc... so it doesn't seem too unusual.

If you are trying to build a pvp stealth gimplate by working around having real skills shame on you.

There is also a lot of tactics increase gear but you still cant perform weapon specs without real skill.

Zoro, I know you said you were walking, but just to make sure, check you OPTIONS to see if you have the box checked for that character to always run. If it is checked, just uncheck it and you should be good to go. I hope this helps.

Have you been ignoring all the replies? You need some real stealth for it to work.

It doesn't matter how much skill increase gear is available, if a skill requires that you invest some real skill points then you will have to find room for some. You can't change the game just by wanting it to work around you. Best idea is to put a few real skill points in stealth and test again.

Better still, go on test centre and try a stealth suit out while you adjust your real stealth skill up until it works.

If your stealth suddenly works when you add real skill at the right level, you can adjust your main stealther accordingly.

I had the same problem with my thief, but this was changed sometime ago (clockwork Exodus release).

i had this exact problem a year or so ago, i put on 30 real skill and its all good now.

so your gonna have to pick up some real skill to get this to work for ya.

I agree.. Spend some time working on gaining steathing.

My stealther is a newbie, recently made, and uses nothing but real stealth and hiding. Bought hiding and worked on stealth up to 75 stealth and 100 hiding. There is absolutely no problem stealthing now but I am not gaining any more. I don't use jewelry or any other items to increase stealth.

My stealther is totally stuck at 75 Stealth and 100 Hiding.

There is plenty of room for gains. All arrows up on the 5 skills= Stealth, hiding, Mage/eval/med.
I've tried wearing all kinds of armor including full heavy plate and nothing works to help gain. I have gone without armor or clothes and stomped around inside dungeons and other dangerous areas and can run a few tiles without revealing self.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Its 25 REAL stealth guys. Ive got the template/char. I only pull out the char to grief folks I see that are OBVIOUSLY using scripts, speeders, or hacks in PvP. Stealth Ninja Archer with GM SS & GM Tracking.
I play the char mayb 2 or 3 times a month tops but its pretty fun .

Btw its 840skill points on that gimplate.
