No matter how you cut it, asking the low population shards like Origin, Legends, etc. to support a system that takes 900 million a year per shard just to participate is ridiculous. Player on those shards are no less deserving of a RP experience and the trade deals/buffs that go with them just because they prefer to play on lower population shards.

I can pretty much promise that without some change, the entire system will be completely ignored on those shards. Folks my run for the title, but there is no way those shards are going to fund even a single town for a full years trade deals.

Oops....you're right! Don't know why I typed an 8 instead of a 9. Must have been reverting to the old number of faction towns or something. I think the rest of the math is correct though: 9 cities x 27 shards = 243 governors. 243 governors x 52 x 2 million = 25.272 billion gold (potentially).

Like Lady CaT and Wolfman said, I think it's doubtful many governors will be able to motivate people enough to make donations in that amount or will feel generous enough to dump in that amount themselves every week. 16 weeks (more or less) at 2 million per week may be more than some people can afford to do if they think that's what they need to pony up themselves (if no one else chips in) to remain a popular candidate as a governor in future elections.

For an additional mod bump..I am sure that even on a small shard like Sonoma...a few of the towns would have the bump as guildmates and myself would donate the money just to get some extra mods...

First off I don't believe this system was used to build a suit around?
Can one seriously expect to be governor forever?
Or how about this should one expect to get their way forever?

Is a guy who claims to have like 40 billion gold complaining about spending 2 mil?
Get Real
Clearly you need to read this thread again because I didn't once complain about spending 2m. Blinded by rage I'm guessing?

As for this not being meant to build suits around: Why the hell not? If it weren't then the mods gained from the trade would go above cap and they do not.

Lol

The buffs are immensely powerful in pvp and a steal at only 100 million per year.

People pay 10x that for similar, one time purchase items with those same mods that then need to be cramped onto suits while replacing other valuable mods.

If you want to compete in pvp at high levels its no big deal at all to pay 100 million per year. If you are simply pvming the buffs are in no way needed so who cares what they cost?

*shakes head*
PVP and PVM. They are powerful in both and worth paying 100m a year for indeed.

Are you seriously going to try and argue with Spock's impeccable logic?

If your shard is so pathetic that the entire population cannot come up with enough gold to make the buffs work you are simply of no importance and a complete non factor. The truth hurts sometimes :(

But you hang in there because god forbid you ever leave all your dead shard pixel history for a better gaming experience on a shard that actually has other players :)

Does history actually exist if there is nobody there to read about it?

Im pretty miffed. I dont care about paying 2m every week, but I , the governor, have to actually OPEN the trade deal again? There was 10m on the stone, so not like the gold wasnt there.

When you say in the patch notes, that the deals persist indefinately, one does not think they have to login to redo the trade deal.
I was wondering a bit about the renewal thing, kind of what the developers were thinking here.

The Trade Deal doesn't automatically renew even if the city has the funds. What will happen if you go on a two-week vacation, or something else happens on the day that requires the renewal such as internet connection issues... can someone else renew the Trade Deal or does it have to be the Governor?

Isn't that a potential problem, both for the Governor and the Citizens of the city?
Kinda if you need to take a vacation. Maybe it would be a good suggestion to give to the King that a Governor of a town can appoint someone to fill in for him for a week or 2 ?

That and also have the option to auto-renew the trad deal.

Yes.

I think this is what Kyronix means, as a governor we have some sort of voice for all citizens. We can pass our thought and idea's on to the King.
And hopefully we can them convince on some changes to improof on some things, like the trade deals. :)

Extra irony for the "Chessy" in your name; from the perspective of players on Atlantic, you're all playing dead shards. And that's totally irrelevant. The devs shouldn't be designing for the biggest shard; they should be designing for all the shards. The game is only going to get smaller.

I don't recall when reading the past patch notes about Governor doing anything but trade deals.
But, even though the patch clearly read that apparently every governor thinks they should be able to change everything.
Except keep the trade deals that they promised.
Oh and logging on the stone once per week apparently is too much too do to.
LOL don't reelect these people.

I'd have considered leaving for a busier shard, but that means uprooting seven houses, including a couple from old, old days.

You do remember that if Spock's friends had followed his logic, he'd have remained dead? Shard versus shard "need" isn't the issue, though. It's a requirement of the same regular output from a smaller crew. As a one-time thing, ok, Sonoma can do that. But regularly, meh.
