UO Upgrades on sale? Oh yes .. so I buy .. hah!

A few minutes ago, I went on line and purchased Stygian Abyss Upgrade and High Seas Booster advertised for sale on ORIGIN at
$9.99 for Stygian Abyss and $7.99 for High Seas booster

That is NOT what they charged me. *see below*

I complained via E-mail, then started this Thread, but went back to click on the HIGH SEAS BOOSTER in auto patch to get those SALE PRICES .. and got:
Page not found

I did access ORIGIN finally, only to find the prices had been changed. Nothing on sale OR
is it that they Do they not offer sale prices to Canadians?

I wanted to upgrade a couple of accounts but instead, looks like I'll be closing accounts. Costs too much to upgrade.

That is exactly what happened to me. That is the link I recorded but ...

The link I used was the window RH Side on AUTOPATCH = HIGHSEAS BOOSTER "BUY NOW" link, which took me to ORIGIN.
There, I used ORIGIN's' Search', typed in UO HIGH SEAS BOOSTER and got ALL PRICES for UO expansions .. showing HIGH SEAS BOOSTER on sale for about 7.99 and Stygian Abyss Upgrade for 9.99.

When I came on line here to post about the prices, I tried to go back to that same Site and when I click on the AUTO PATCH HIGHSEAS BOOSTER Advertisement on the RH side of the AUTO PATCH .. I got "Page Not Found". So that was changed AFTER I COMPLAINED to ORIGIN in an E_mail about the failure to honor their advertised sale prices. - - And of course I couldn't find the sale prices so I could screen shot them and post them here .. they were already changed.

so to make a short story longer .. *sorry*

AFTER I COMPLAINED by sending mail to ORIGIN, the prices were changed because I immediately posted this thread, then went back to find the links to that original price list and could not access ORIGIN from that HIGHSEAS BOOSTER BUY NOW WINDOW on AUTOPATCH.

When I click on the 'High Seas Booster BUY NOW" ADVERTISEMENT ON AUTOPATCH, I still get the message: "Page Not Found".

The prices from the time I complained to when I finally accessed their Price lists again, were changed.

The ONE LINK to THAT PAGE on AUTO PATCH won't work now.

Also, I have no proof they were displaying SALE PRICES at the time I placed my order because I DID NOT TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE PRICES BEING OFFERED.
Only my word. So there is NO PROOF now. *sigh* .. and there's nothing I can do except complain here and hope someone else doesn't have it happen to them too.

Maybe ask Kelmo about this. He did post just a thread about these items being on sale at the Origin store not too long ago. His thread should be not too far away on the list.

Well, better than my situation. I stay in Thailand for several months a year. I can't buy ANYTHING for UO on the store, no upgrades, no products, nothing. So I guess I won't be able to get the new stuff with no way to buy upgrades for my accounts.

Basically it makes all of your internet data/traffic go through the network of the VPN service provider. The end result is (among others) that you appear to the site/store as a landsman of the respective VPN service server.

So if you use an american VPN you get an american IP thus .....

new products yes, but flogging old stuff dosnt really have much to do with what i would imagine a dev does.

I didn't have any better luck than Kelmo either in making a purchase. There has been no response from Origin since I received the confirmation order number via E-mail. My letter replying to that confirmation was did not got through because their [email protected] return address is a security risk and my mail server would not send my mail to that server.

Yeah, I've been told Thailand has that reputation, however from what I know, I'm not sure it's deserved and I'm kind of an old hand here, been living here a long time, almost 20 years now. Someone needs to do a new assessment of this area, they're missing a lot of business.

I ping Sonoma at anywhere between 225 and 400, usually between 250 and 300, and I'm not in a city, we live out in the country in the "real" Thailand. However, someone told me in the game about a program that helps your ping and I installed it and it is crazy good. Before, I couldn't do any fighting, couldn't go into the Abyss cause I couldn't move fast enough to get past the stuff to even get in,, now I run with all my guildies just as fast as they do or almost as fast.

What were you using? I tried wtfast and lowerping but they only shaved about 50ms off my ping. When I'm over in Thailand i'm up in Chiang Mai. I'd be keen to try any thing that could speed it up a bit.

Origin Store needs to let us know ahead of it when a sale is going to go on.... one would think they would like to make money.. and a 2 day sale should be given a week ahead heads up! Don't EA want to make money???
Especially after the disasterous review in the financial times of EA as a whole in lite of the paltry 12 offerings for the coming year unlike previous years of over 40... Thou they were not the only ones nit picked on by the review.
I want to go in and be able to shop not sit there and twiddle my thumbs 1 item at a time... and hope my cc didn't get flagged for too many purchases... like the last 3 times...

I have been waiting for them to go opn sale for a while now and missed it again. There is enough spam in the damm game...why can't the town crier spout it out while the sale is going on. But then again, it's time to just give these expansions for free.
