New one slot pack tames worth a squat. Dark wolves should of been left. New trick command for spell casting tames that open a gate to your last location. Or a new linked pet ball that is related to a rune. Any Mage marks the balls location and then it is linked to a pet. On command pet opens a gate to the location. Why should a group of fighters on the hunt drag along a mage when the warrior tamers caster pet can be trained to open their gate to home or a bank. Reason to have two caster team.

Ever since factions died, iv'e missed my faction war-horse.
Therefore i would like to see Greater rideable llamas, And Greater ostards. they should have 200hp
Thise pets should not be made bondable.
Would also love to see, greaer drakes, WW's etc etc.
this would be most welcome. even from the sense of having a nice mount to roam around with on a shard that isn't your main.

when I make a char on a new shard the first thing I do with the 1000 gold (after turning off focus) is buying a horse and a few apples.

Oh and one more tiny bit.... open up the stable.
I am so tired of juggling how to make max use of my slots and stable count that its frustrating to the point of screaming...
I'd like you to open back up the slots as well...
I do know many who fear you opening up tamer slots is the pvp community as there are many who would get creamed in fel by tamers... there is a solution.. Trammelize it only.
Give us back some of our early year abilitys....

I would like very much to have more stable and pet slots. Stable slots would likely be greeted favorably by most, but increased pet slots would be dangerous if there were no caveats.

Why not tie increased slots to the herding skill? With gm herding you get (+x) pet slots. this would ensure the character were using 100 real skill points on a relatively benign skill that is actually related to the desired effect.

Funny thing, it is cheeper to buy the taming skill up and tame your own horse instead of just buying one. Few shouts on chat can let you know how dead or friendly that shard is at that hour.

Siege has it right when it comes to the Chat.
We all log in and say good morning or what ever hour it is and greet all.
The trades of weapons, armor, or anything you can imagine happens. Players talk to each other ...TALK. Not yell obsenitys or chide each other over how bad arsed they are.
Don't get me wrong, there are rare exceptions to this but for the most part its civilized. Hard to imagine huh?

Well I recommend if you think this through if they added a slot per just for use in a tram setting, I left out fel for that reason that those who beat the hadies out of one another have this think about tamers and their pets killing them.... poor babys... not.
But I digress...
A tamer say real skill gm across the board in taming skills 100/100/100 (that's vet lore and tame) it stays the same as we have now. That's on all facits.
The top rank of real 120/120/120 Tamer would get open stable, and a max of 8 slots that's 2 WW/dragons and a nightmare worth of space to have out. Its not enough to have 2 GDs out so maintains the status quo in that reguards. But it gives the average tamer their team back to hunt or have a better shot at a lvl 7 t map !
I'd still like to see a raise in old and new WW/dragons, it dosnt need be equil to the GD but at the very least enough that a swoop or a frost dragon wont 1-3 hit kill it!

What does this mean? Any examples you can give? (I didn't start playing until late 2004, so I'm not sure what, exactly, you guys keep referring to when you say this.)
The old AI has several differences. One, the older AI pets are better at pathfinding than the new ones, meaning they more quickly and efficiently navigate around obstacles when following you or pursuing a victim.
Two, the older AI spellcasting pets (especially the WW) are much more aggressive in their use of spells, they cast as rapidly as Rune Beetles and often times do brutal spell "combos" (Exp+FS+Claw+Poison).
Three, they are more responsive when it comes to using spells to heal/cure themselves. My Hades will cure himself almost the very moment he gets poisoned, and he begins casting Greater Heal on himself starting at 60-80% health, where newer AI pets start healing at around 20-30%. I've seen Hades cast Greater Heal on himself up to three times in a row before, healing himself for around 100-150 health.
Overall, older AI spellcasting pets (particularly WWs) have superior spellcasting AI than newer pets do. WWs used to be able to cast AoE spells such as Mass Curse, Chain Lightning and Meteor Swarm, but the ability was removed (or locked) on them due to the fact that the spells would also hit friendly targets at the time. If a tamer was standing right behind his WW vetting it, and it cast Mass Curse/Chain Lightning/Meteor Swarm on an opponent in melee range of it, the spell would also hit the tamer, causing the WW to attack him as well. Plenty of "OoOoO"ing occured from that.

Over the years, there have been several "generations" of WWs and Nightmares created through various Publishes. My Long Mane Pure Nightmare, Apollo, was worth several mill at one point (back when that was alot), because pure Nightmares stopped spawning for years. He's old AI as well, him and Hades made for a pretty nasty team (and still do, just not against newer Peerlesses that were designed with Sampires/Greater Dragons in mind). The older generations will obey the "Drop" command, and older generation WWs will not eat gold. First gen WWs have Frost Breath, which WWs no longer spawned with after Week 2-3 of T2A, because it did too much damage on top of their already impressive spell/melee damage.

I've never seen Hades open a Gate or Recall before, although i have seen him use Frost Breath a few times. I recall Unicorns originally being able to open gates if their rider was low on health, but it was changed to poison immunity/curing because they couldn't gate from Ilshenar. Ki-Rins still do a Chain Lightning on their rider's attackers when the rider is low on health. I used to mage duel while riding a Ki-Rin on my Tamer/Mage specifically for that purpose.

Ive played since BETA(on a friends account) & started my own account in Oct 1997. I still have white wyrms that eat gold. At no time EVER did pets cast gate spells, period. What your friend probably saw was someone casting gate from somewhere ELSE and your dragon just happened to be standing next to it by pure coincidence.

I still own and use 1998 dragons and wyrms. As for their AI I see no difference whatsoever, sorry. Your personal attachment to pixels is clouding your judgement.

As for having mounted speed with a greater.... That's one of the MAJOR ways that UO keeps in business and they've been doing it since the 1st New Release. They add in something just alil more powerful or beneficial so your forced into buying their latest version, deal with it. Everyone had dragons so they invented hiryus that destroy dragons, everyone started getting hiryus so they invented the Cu that destroys hiryus, everyone got a Cu so they invented the greater dragon, etc... The game is FULL of examples of this and you'd think by now most players would understand this marketing strategy. It works wonderfully. If you want mounted speed become or create a gargoyle. If you don't like change or having to adapt... your playing the wrong game.

Leave Pets Alone.

Edit : I believe the 'Drop' command has been disabled (for dragons/wyrms) and my White Wyrms do indeed still eat gold that will raise their 'Happiness' level.

You obviously don't have an old generation WW. Old generation WWs do not eat gold, and do obey the drop command. I just tried feeding Hades gold, and above him it said "The creature looks at you strangely and shakes its head no" while i got a "There is no container to put that in" message on the bottom left of my screen. I then said "Hades Drop" and he dropped 2 Arrows beneath him.
Then, i went and tamed a fresh WW at Ice. I dropped gold on him, and he ate it. I told him to drop, and he wouldn't drop anything. Took him back to the stables, released him, claimed Hades and had Hades kill him, the dead WW still had gold/items on his corpse.

Ok Player your right about feeding them gold. I have 4 WWs stabled and I tested the wrong ones. My bad... I had the the ages mixed up but yes... 1 of mine won't eat gold and responds to my 'Drop' command. A fairly worthless command because he always loots random things which are almost surely junk. Back in the day before sending bags him looting gold was awesome. I would find dead banks at off times before telling him 'Drop' and there under him would be 8-10 stacks of 60k gold along with all the items. Since sending bags came out, pets looting is moot.

I stand corrected on this point, but imho, on this point only.
