Samurai Plate - Mage Armor...

Please remove the damn "Mage Armor" property that automatically get's slapped onto Exceptionally crafted Samurai Plate. If someone really wants "Mage Armor" on their Samurai Plate, they could go pay the Mage NPC to put it on for them.
With the new addition of Stam Protection/Inherent LMC for Armor Types, the "Mage Armor" property really ruins the Samurai Platemail for Warrior templates, like actual Samurai/Swordsman chars.

Either fix mage armor or just remove it from the game alltogether. I really cringe when it appears as property on a looted item, as I could have a property that was actually useful spawn in its place instead.

Do like you suggested and pay the NPC Mage to REMOVE the mage armor property.... 250k per pc ... these days 100's of Millions are spent on putting together suits so it shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm fine with the property appearing on monster loot. It can certainly be removed from player crafting.

It's useful for training imbuing, but that can be replicated with a one-time 250K fee, whereas making multiple samurai suits is unnecessarily expensive.

Lol, yeah. I didn't realize you could also remove Mage Armor with that NPC. Just paid 1.5 Mill to remove Mage Armor off of a suit of Samurai Plate i made.

Have you test this way?

1.Make HQ Samurai Plate
2.Remove Mage Armor Property
3.Imbuing some magic Properties to Samurai Plate.
4.Add regi with color ingots to Samurai Plate.

-> Mage Armor Property is regenerated!

I should pay 250k * 2 gold for each armor.... :sad2:

There's no real reason for Mage Armor to still be on samurai plate. It's not like mages are going to wear it.

I've never made any Samurai Plate for any of my chars, so I'm not familiar with it's base properties, etc. But - I am curious as to your logic... Why would a Mage not wear Samurai Plate with Mage Armor on it?

Because it's gobbling up a property slot for no reason compared to just wearing leather.

Right now the Mage Armor property is just sort of dangling out there like a vestigial organ, unwanted by anyone. Letting an NPC remove it for a fee was a sloppy kludge of a solution. There are ways it could have been accomodated (not having it remove the LMC/stam bonuses from armor it appears on and then making other changes to balance this) but by far we would have been better off if it had just gone away completely.

Here's what I'd do, just because:

* Mage Armor goes away, everything becomes medable.

* Inherent LMC on armor goes away to balance this out.

* Metal/stone armor keeps stamina protection bonuses.

* Leather/leaf armor gets some other mage-related bonus.

* Studded/bone armor gets a little of both.

I'm not going to try to pick the mage-related bonus for leather right now because it will just derail the thread. In an imaginary world where I was running things I'd take a few weeks to shake it out on Test Center and pick something balanced. But yeah this business where armor can be spawned with an item property literally nobody wants, and then you go have an NPC remove it? Sloppy.
