7 day timer on house placement (just returned after many years)

Hello everyone,

I hope this is in the right place (figured I would get the fastest replies here)...


I been gone for many, many years and have just returned not long ago.

Anyways,
I placed a small house last night (now my placement tool say's I must wait 7 days to place again).
after placing the small house I found a huge open spot for a big house....

My question is:
If I drop the small house I placed last night am I homeless for 7days, or once I drop the small house does it remove the 7 day timer? Letting me place again instantly?

Thanks for any info you might have....

I did some searching and I'm getting mixed answers....I don't want to be homeless for the next 7 days if I drop the small house.....

I believe that if you drop the small house, you will still get the timer message, but it will place the house anyway.

That's how it used to be anyway.

If you drop the small house you should be able to place again as you do not own a house. I have placed and dropped a number of houses like this.

There might be some bug there. Had a guy in the guild a while back that couldn't replace for a week after he dropped his house.

I jumped on test center and tried it there, and yes I appear to be homeless for the next 7 days on test center so I'm not going to risk dropping my house.....just hoping the open spot I found is still there in 7days

The test center I think its on its own server I would not go by the test center. You can not place a house if you accepted it in trade. when I was placing houses, and selling them I could place, sell then place again then sell again. I would just drop it so you might be homeless for 7 days its not your going to fill the small house up in that 7 days take the chance . *chants* drop it drop it drop it.......

If you are on a high population shard I would not 'hope' that the spot will still be free. I have placed and dropped and replaced MANY TIMES.

Just transferred to Atlantic and placed a small house last night (needed a place for my stuff....It was full when i moved in lol) a few hours after placing I find a spot for a 18x16..... chances are the spot will be gone within a week....I'll keep you all updated what I decide to do....would hate to chance having all my stuff in pack horses for a week and this little 13x16 I placed is not going to do it for me...

If you drop your house, you can place again immediately without waiting for the timer. As others have said, you'll still get the message saying you have to wait, but you can still place with no problems and no waiting.

As stated above, if you get the house through a transfer you are stuck with the timer even if you drop it, but if you placed yourself you can tear it down and replace immediately. I just transferred to Atlantic also, and had a 8x11 to start but a 18x14 fell next to me 3 days later and was able to drop/place without issue.

If you drop the only house on the account you get the message you have to wait the first time you open the tool but it doesn't matter, if you close the tool and open it again the second time the message is gone.

if u placed the small u can drop it and replace with another..u can place drop place drop all day...1 hour wait methinks...u only ever get the timer if u buy a house in the trade window..........end of

Thank you, I've used that name for many, many, many years

I started in early 2000 played till around 2005(used the same board name/character name back then).
Then I took a break and started again in 2007 and quit right before SA was released, and now I'm back once again, just can't keep me away ...
