Is it just me or is anyone else wondering if anyone is working at EA/UO anymore?

What ever happened to the Ask and Answer??? I see lots of questions and such but not a whole heck of a lot of answer and nothing being posted on the web makes it seem awfully quiet.

Concerning to me.... am I alone?

Funny, I was noticing a loud silence from anyone myself -the one exception is Kryonix did make several responses to a thread on Friday. Oh, and a job posting for an EM position last week or ten days ago I think.

I am by no means a fan boy of EA, but Petra is a volunteer and does a hell of a job. If you want to take aim at anyone, ask why EA doesn't have boards for this game on a site that they host and moderate. Seriously Berethrain, get some perspective.

I have seen Kyronix come here the last few nights and answer some thread directly and he even went and hunted through the code the other night to find the answer about healing. So they are answering our questions but its in a more direct maner

Do we forget they are at work on the game that means sitting down and doing the work not reading the boards all day. Those bug fixes don't do themselves or the refinement bit that just came out... that was done by elves?? hehe you really need to get to know what work is. Mesanna and the team read the boards when time allows. We are very fortunate that the EA brass have not banned them from contact with us as that detracts from their work.

Hah! I made a comment that apparently one of the moderators did not like and they deleted it without so much as a warning. My guess is it was Kelmo because he deletes everything. Well, what would an online forum be like without power-tripping mods?

Think about it. We've seen this before. Total silence tends to mean they're beavering away all hours working on something. In my experience it's usually followed by something like publish notes and the whole group arrive here on the forums like kids let out of school. Search your memory, am I right?

@the critics. If you're posts are being removed, look to your posting style for the reason, not our moderators. Insults, snide comments, trolling and personal attacks will see posts reported and probably removed.
Stay civil, constructive and courteous and you will have no problems at all.

I could see the above two posts going down the rabbit hole as well. guess there both sleeping.

I give them a lot of credit however. its one hell of an endeavor to put forth the effort they do without being
financially compensated for it.

I also think those of you that champion an official board site hosted by EA, would be the first ones griping when you'd find out what censorship really could be.

Im sure Kelmo has better things to do than sit at his computer thinking ok who's post should I delete today, oh I know I'll put a blind fold on just push my keyboard buttons, and see how many peoples post get deleted today.

Ever think that some posts get deleted because they might of been quoting the main post the mods were deleted in the first place.

Just was thinking it's time someone pulled themselves away from the work and said "Hi" to the masses so we know they are still there... and yes I'm aware of Kyronix posting of late a bit here and there but often many of us look forward to some sort of acknowledgment of our existence in the form of the "Ask and Answer".... To do nothing and receive no word week after week makes folk feel abandoned .... and often leads to boredom and failure to see anything on the horizon..... which leads to wandering thoughts of looking to other games for things when if we got word that something cool was coming round the corner we might be more inclined to just wait and see...

Communication is a two way street you know. We communicate here.... and we put in Bug Reports and such... but we DO like to have feedback. Otherwise we tend to believe that our communications are ignored and that nothing will change or that the Bug Reports head straight into the circular file... where they are all but forgotten...

I always look forward to coming to Stratics and seeing the blue "News" tag and seeing a RSS feed post from UO.com. Lately that hasn't been happening.

I'm sure if EA hadn't' repeatedly cut down on the UO team there would be a little more chatter from them here. But let us hope then that this silence is suggestive of new developments in the works.

They have the King's Collection to be released very soon. New em's to train for this year's story arc, to get that rolling and planned out and in game, which may include new art being worked on. Not counting all the regular things and the next publish. I have noticed aswell a few things moved, or adjusted or stackable in the game now where none was mentioned. Just enjoy playing the game and keep trying things out.

(It's a thread on the Siege forum regarding the status of factions across all shards, what the devs want to replace it with on all shards, and requesting feedback.) While it may be an interesting experience for the people who happened to be logged in at the time, it certainly doesn't seem like it gets the publicity that it needs nor does this mechanism allow for everyone who might have some thoughts on the matter to get involved in any kind of meaningful way.

idiocity, plain and simple. have an online discussion blog, chatboard, discussion group.. whatever. hopping on Siege or any single shard (siege makes it really weird since siege's ruleset makes factions different than on regular servers) for that matter and discussing major game implications is just dumb.
