Hey there.

I just wanted to share a thought Ive had with you guys:
Where are the good items?
Okay, the definition of "good" always depends on the buyer, yet I feel like there havent been any good items lately.

Some weeks or months ago people posted a lot of stuff, especially ssi/stam jewelry. Tho the "big buyers" do have the stuff they want now, I still think that you should feel free to post anything. Anything as an item you dont know about, dont know its value, dont know if somebody will actually buy it.

I myself am always looking for stuff. Even tho Im sometimes not sure myself what Im looking for, I often just buy an item in case Ill ever make a temp with it.

So Im offering anybody to PM me to talk about items. Ill give my honest opinion about its use and value. Or you could just post it here and Ill try my best to answer.

I agree man. Sometimes I'm hard on people and laugh at the stuff they post. I promise not to now. Since I havnt been in Shame myself the past couple months someone needs to and they need to post whats good so that I can buy it

I still go to shame a couple hours every other day or so. I get a lot of great cursed stuff that I don't mind losing. But the good clean stuff drops few and far between. Still several pieces look decent but I'm not quite sure where they would fit in or I hang on to them in case I have a temp that can use them:

I do keep a lot of cursed stuff too. Jewels and the like that I don't mind taking a chance on losing. But never sell them here. Or stuff like this shield:

Nice non-brittle/repair max luck arties are extremely rare. Even though this shield is cursed, I wouldn't mind burning a forged tool charge enhancing it w/gold for my tram dungeon farming dexer.

For weapons I'm at a total loss. I keep it if it is clean and has 20% splinter like this but the other mods don't really look so great to me:

I know what looks good for my templates. But not so much what is appealing to others save the no-brainer stuff like those squeaky clean legendary bone arms I sold a few weeks back or that nice mage bracelet.

Getting more sun and alot warmer from day to day now - lots of peeps enjoy the upcomming summer i guess plus you just need a break after weeks of grinding for items in the dark dungeons
And, many people are still sorting their loot hehe

prices went way way down, not really worth the time anymore.
i never really "farmed" but i the time i spent killing unbounds is now spent crafting new suits, because i couldnt do any crafting unitil the patch went thru. or working on the house deco project i have going on. 1 suit down, 3 to go. and as a "casual" uo player, thatll take me thru the summer probably. many others probably doing this.

unbounds are the best for what people are looking for now. the clean 5ssi and base stamina5 and basic 20 splinters from level one just arent worth it anymore in my opinion, but the unbounds give clean atifacts pretty often (by often i dont mean every hour or 2 lol) Definitly worth fighting if thats what your spending your UO time doing

I'm going to post a couple things here, in hopes that someone(s) can help me understand just what is desirable. I know enough to recognize things that will improve the suit I'm actively using, but as I really only play a couple different characters (mostly dexxers) I just don't understand a lot of the basics. I've been spending most of my UO time in Shame, and have a few hundred items that I *think* are decent or could be with imbuing, but I'm just not sure.

So, my basic assumption is that I should be looking for a few things: items that have low intensities of properties that would be desirable when grouped together (the second ring, I think), items with properties that go over their normal cap (animated ring), and "clean" artifacts with useful properties (Only ones I have found so far had properties like lower requirements super high ).

Do any of the above have any sort of potential with imbuing? Like I said, I'm fairly clueless as I can only say what is better than whatever I'm wearing at the time (which is just about everything). I'm still working on imbuing so a lot of things I'm squirreling away until I can actually do something with them.

Anyway, any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

People are looking for clean artifacts or for items that have a single mod at max that cannot be imbued. For example, a ring with only 10 SSI and 5 Stamina and nothing else would be a gem. This is because you cannot imbue either SSI or Stamina (on a jewel) and both are max values with no other mods. Your first jewel with SDI 15 is above imbuing cap. But there is only 1 free mod slot so there is little flexibility. That is the only item I could see selling, but even so, not for much at all. Now selling at a high price and being usable yourself are two different things. You may be able to custom build a suit with exactly the jewels you have available.

You always gotta ask you those questions: Can it be imbued/reforged with the same mods? What template is it useful for? PvPers tend to pay the most for useful items. I myself would pay +1 billion for a single weapon (i.e. splintering kryss/butcher knife) with perfect mods. I would focus my whole template around that single item. heres an example: Theres a nice kryss being sold. 20 splint, 70 fireball, 70 poison area, 50 hit lower defense, 3 mana reg. Almost perfect mods. Obviously you cant imbue splintering and it can be put to use on many templates. Yet, it s a kryss and its base damage is very low. Thus your template would need high damage increase/tac/ana to get max 35 AI damage. So what template could that weapon be used on? Something with pois/ninja is a must due to the special moves (ai/dp). Having those skills disables you to have high tac/ana and it s hard to have damage increase on the suit while having the usual mana inc/hpr/dci/hci stuff. Conclussion: It s a good weapon, yet, in my opinion, missing DI or 1 fc to be perfect and worth +1bil. I might bid on it anyway because you dont see such weapons very often. In your case, Jay8533, none of your items is something special as most can be imbued/reforged like that, dont have well fitting resis or do have useless mods.

Supply and Demand is all. The smart people got in Shame when it started. I preached to friends to get in there and they didnt listen. I was able to profit early on and pretty big from Shame but yes it's not what it once was unless you get elite items. I'd pay BILS for a 20 HCI 10 SSI 5 Stam jewel set.

Or a sceptor like I had and wish I didnt sell

BTW a Scepter is a great weapon I THINK. Mortal and crushing blow work well together. Crushing blow is alot better now with it dropping 10 stamina on impact too. WOULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE lot better had they done the refresh changes like originally planned. I'm glad they didnt though. I play mages lol.

Thanks for the pointers, guys. What you said just revealed how little I understand about what can/can't be done with imbuing, so I'm trying to pick that up more as I train it. I've also started using the EC when crafting for an easier time figuring out what the various caps are.

So, I just pulled a ring with: +5 Taming, 15% Spell Damage Inc, and 25% Lower Reagent. Is something like this a bit more desireable (two properties over cap, with room for imbuing...)?

Yes minus the taming unless its in the magery group.
