List of monsters that drop spellweaving scrolls?

all i could find here through stratics was swoops (of which i killed over 150k worth of and ZERO scrolls) and reptalons (which i don't want to have to try). I also killed a ton of changelings figuring they cast WOD on you they must have SW scrolls but again no luck. Can anyone provide a list of monsters who drop Spellweaving scrolls as loot and which ones drop them the most frequently.

Normally I collect them off the Trogs in Painted Caves while training new chars. Some days they drop at a decent rate and other times nothing. The crystal demons in the prism of light is another decent spot. High spawn rate, plus you can collect the crystals to make the crystal dust for gorgon lens.

thanks for letting me know about the trogs. i tried crystal daemons earlier and killed about 20 with no scrolls and since it wasn't listed as dropping them in the monster chart i gave up. there really needs to be a searchable list here on stratics. hopefully we can get a list here.

normally i'd just go buy a book but i'm playing a new character from ground up on a new (to me) shard and the mils it costs for a book now could be spent on other stuff at this time so i wanted to farm them and could not find a decent resource as to what monsters dropped scrolls .

ok killed about 75k worth of trogladytes (because there was another player there) got 0 scrolls, went back to crystal daemons killed 150k worth and also got 0 scrolls. it certainly looks like i'll be able to buy a spellbook for a couple of mil way, way before i am able to farm the scrolls. this seems absolutely ridiculous. they seriously need to do something about the drop rate on spellweaving scrolls there is no logical reason that they are so hard or expensive to come by. If there isn't a monster that can be killed with a higher drop rate than the ones i have tried then they certainly need to make them scribeable or available from an npc.

Kill Cu Sidhe's

That's how I farm scrolls. Your karma will go down as usual, but with 10k karma, you can kill like 50+ cu's


I get a scroll about every 25 Cu's... give or take a few

The problem with SW scrolls is that you'll get some a long the way doing peerlesses and whatnot, but if you really need them and want to farm them you will be SOL

I have gotten them off Swoops, cu's , pixies that changelings have killed, changelings , dryads, and a ton of others. What shard are you looking on? I have tons on many shards.

this particular adventure is occurring on atlantic. I did finally get a natures fury scroll off of an insane dryad. only 9 more to go.. haha

Miasma is probably the most reliable/farmable critter that I have fought that drops them.

I don't think anything reliably drops them...... I generally get a few from CuSidhe's and Changelings when I'm down there looking for nice CuSidhes.... but I'm not looking to fill a book either.... Miasma is a good bet.... though if you don't have a lockpick it's all moot.

ive been collecting them for 6 years running now. anytime we do a peerless I would ask in vent to have any scrolls that drop plus will loot any I came across. I've filled out several dozen books over the years for guildmates. its a long process like everything else in uo. good luck

easiest mobs that drop them are the crystal daemons , without any doubt and why not farm crystals while at it ? Always good to have gorgons lenses supplies =)

I have to agree with the above poster who said Miasmas. I got a vendor full of sw scrolls for sale and I make mad gold there when farming.

thing is the op want scrolls and there are like 10 crystal daemons spawning at same time 2-hits whirlwinds them with a demon slayer and you will end up with way more scrolls than fighting miasmas

Guess it's all in what you want/need. I do Miasmas for gold (2.2k gold per), t-chests w/lvl 6 map (or unopened chest can be turned in for 1.2k points each), sw scrolls, chance at artifacts (totem of the void is always nice to throw on a vendor), parrots (turn in points for me) and lower end set armor pieces. Miasma spawns pretty quickly as well.

Crystal demons die faster, but it is my understanding that the named critters have quite a bit higher drop chance, with the peerless having the best drop chance.

Some find it easier to survive only having to worry about 1 critter and spend less time opening corpses without any scrolls.

The two named spiders at Dread Horn also work very well for me. With a spider slayer they are a piece of cake and have a nice respawn rate. Dont forget to bring a bag of sending for the gold stacks

The scorp boss drops them. Easy kills.. decent loot.. and scrolls.
