I was thinking about the first time I came upon an ancient wyrm. I think I died at least 20 times that night trying to kill it myself. At that time I was barely holding my own against ogre lords. Ah those were the days.

So feeling nostalgic, I decided to bring my sampire out and try to solo em. In under a minute it was dead. I'm not even sure my sampire got below half life. I had a troll laughing at the AW it was that lopsided. Swoop proved to be more of a challenge.

Is it me or is this just wrong? Back in the day the AW was the original peerless if you will. It took guilds to take this Icon of beasts down. I understand that the game has changed and I'm ok with that, however I feel that this beast of all beasts deserves a major upgrade. I should not be able to farm AW's faster than I can farm some corrupted stinky unicorn.

Just my opinion.


BTW the kewlest thing I ever received was the AW action figure that still sits next to my cpu!

What would be cool... revamp destard, and have a boss level AW in the AW floor, Revamp hythloth, have a boss level Balron on the bottom of floor 5, Deceit with a boss level Lich Lord in the lich pit.

Have some chain of events required to gain access to each area, along with the upgraded loot system.

Relive the olden day top level content.

Let's not upgrade the monsters to challenge a freak template, most don't fine tune their skill sets to supercharacter status. You want to make an AW a challenge? Play a halfway normal character and save the Dev's man-hours for something useful. Sheesh... <g>

If you make the AW too powerful,then people will ignore it and hunt elsewhere.

I think that it's good that we have kept a balance among our monsters - there's pretty much something for everyone, now isn't there....
When you can solo everything in the game, then come back here and ask for greater challenges...
Fridgster - you are better than you were back then, a better warrior... The AW hasn't changed, you have... Nothing wrong with enjoying memories, tho...

There are two spawning area in Ilsh. Have fun till a paragon spawns. Then hope after 20 deaths there is a paragon chest to put on your mantle.

I'll say this... I went on a shard I don't really play on a "newish" tamer. I took a couple friends with we were looking for a good Greater.... They were not the best fighters, one a thrower and one an archer.... but within about 10 min they have totally wiped out every dragon in Destard... And they kept the spawn at near nothing for over an hour as I searched for a decent Greater to tame..... It's my opinion that things like that should NEVER happen. 3 people should NEVER be able to wipe out all the spawn around the lake and keep it under control. NEVER. In my opinion if the spawn level starts to plummet...... then the spawn RATE should rise to meet it..... Keeping the dungeon difficult..... and FULL. One of the MAJOR problems with many dungeons anymore is that things take FOREVER to respawn... You can't do stuff as a group anymore because once you wipe up the initial spawn you are left standing about picking your nose as things spawn back one at a time.... So the whole group then is left to kill what they can see spawn.... and many get BORED... it would be different if like down in Covetous it took 3 or 4 people to kill something... But lets face it there aren't a whole lot of things that take more than one person to kill anymore. So who needs a guild anymore because you can solo 99% of the game these days.

It would do wonders if there were more things that Spawns and Peerless to keep a guild busy. I remember and some of my fondest memories are of what we called "Muster" on Saturday nights.... we'd take the whole guild down to some dungeon and make an adventure.... and it often took the whole guild to keep the spawn down and work the dungeon.... Now it takes ONE person.... maybe two at most.... I remember when Dragons were to be FEARED..... They would rip a warrior to shreds if they weren't careful.... Sad the state of things anymore. What do you need a guild for if not to hunt as a group? If there is nothing to do as a group activity then it's hard to keep a guild busy and occupied enough that they enjoy being in it. I want that back.

Back in the early days you could tame them
