Taming Troubles .. haha

I fellow taming Polar Bears on Arctic outside my house on Atlanta, was re-taming his released bears.
I decided to tell him that, in doing so, he would get a message in his journal saying "That wasn't even challenging" and thus, gain nothing from retaming his own released pets.

I suggest he should mark his pets with an "S" before releasing them so he wouldn't be retaming his own pets over and over again. I should have told him to ATTACH an S to the end of the Bear's Name as in : "a polar bearS"

He then proceeded in erasing the complete bear's name including bears marked with my J as in "a polar bear J" .. and naming every Polar Bear, "S" !!!!

NOW as I tame his released "S" polar bears, some of which have only been tamed once by him and not by me ... guess who gets the message "That wasn't even Challenging!" HAHAHA ME!:loser:

A 3 day old character is hardly able to tame a polar bear without failing a few times. So what is funny about that? It's mysel I am laughing at because I am a legendary tamer with over 10 tamers on Sonoma. On Atlanta I am starting a new character.

.. haha ...oh dear, now I am laughing .. not at you looker118 - - but at myself for making this thread because - - -I expected some reply like yours from a tamer... so once again the joke is on me.

On Sonoma, I have10 legendary tamers. So, as FLUTTER says, I should know better than to give anyone advice about taming especially to recipients who are always in too much of a hurry to get on with the taming, and not standing around listening to me.

And .. FLUTTER STOP LAUGHING while I try give more advice here - - to looker118 this time.

looker118 .. it's my belief you only get that message when you re-tame your own released pets. It's been so long since I checked my journal when I tame a horse for someone, I am not sure if I get that message or not. So .. if I am wrong, I'll be back to tell everyone I am wrong again.

Don't think I am wrong .. only got the message when I retamed a released Horse. Nothing has changed. For looker118 and anyone else .. three screen shots:

I shouldn't reply to DrVenkman but can't resist. I've had a belly full of PVPers like you since 1997. There are better creatures to fight than to waste time on you ..

I was practicing Magery and polymorphed into a Polar bear.
It's so funny galloping around and casting spells, raising up on the hind feet .. scratching behind your ear with that back foot ...

It doesn't wear off until you either cast the spell again or log out.

I love changing to an orc and going to Covetous 3rd level to hunt, or another critter that spawns in the area. It would confuse the other players all to heck. Well, now no one else goes there any more.

I am happy to know that by casting polymorph again instantly changed me back to who I am .. but even happier to know I can run around for as long as I like as a polar bear without changing back into a human after a time limit!!!

Just waiting for someone to try tame me.

I should make a character named " a polar bear " .. It used to be in the first few years, when a player polymorphed, the player would be turned into a grey creature which other players could then kill. I saw too many unsuspecting players attacked and killed when they tried polymorphing for fun. That's why I never used that skill. I was surprised when I tried polymorphing in a safe place that my title remained BLUE. Therefore making a character named "a polar bear" wouldn't work because it would be a longer blue name than just "Jade" which gets lost in the crowd of bears and a tamer might not notice my name as much. <<< oops thinking out loud again - sorry.

But back on topic, if a tamer tries to tame me ..
I can try explain why they should not retame their released pets. Right?
Maybe they'll listen to a BEAR?

Better yet... have a couple text macros ready showing the text that you get when you start taming and when you have tamed a polar bear. And then the player around...
