Missing Buc's Den Barrels

On Chesapeake, they removed the Trammel Buc's Den Smithy barrels months ago. This was one of the few locations where you could remove items without having stealing skill. We still had the Fel barrels so it was all right. Well, yesterday the Fel barrels vanished too. They are also gone on Sonoma, the other of the two shards I play.

For those who play other shards, are the Buc's Den smithy barrels gone where you play too?

Anyone know why the barrels were removed? This was the only place my crafters who have no combat skills or stealing could safely go in the hope of getting some of the new enhancement items and wire.

Generally - that will be a player removing them to use for decoration or to block others from getting the new items. Probably a griefer getting them early each morning.

I just went to both Tram and Fel on Sonoma and barrels were certainly there, nothing in Tram ones but Fel ones were loaded. If you're depending on these for the new refinement items, gonna be slim pickins tho.

I play Sonoma only , and I can state that the Buc barrels have not gone missing in tram or fel for over a yr.
And yes it is an old trick to pick them up, but can be done.

From what I saw Parnoc wrote, I have to ask a few questions...
Since he saw the Buc Barrels when you could not...

Do you play EC or CC?
Do you use transparency?
If yes , what is the circle radius set at?
Where is your recall rune set for , next to the barrels or out side?

Well I logged in on CC and cranked trans to 200 . had no effect on me seeing the barrels.. (Sonoma)

I did log onto chessy and went to tram , saw the barrels were indeed gone, could not get a gate to bucs fel

from what Ive seen seems someone is taking the barrels , however I DID notice that the default empty fruit basket was also missing on Chessy , that struck me as odd

Barrels have been gone from Buc's Trammel for at least 6 months. It was their disappearance from Buc's Fel that triggered this post. Ah well... Thank you again for taking the time to check. I really appreciate that.

Yeah , Id suggest calling a GM?
Maybe they can look into it, again the fruit basket missing caught my attention... me thinks sumthin is assuce there.

Default fruit basket is not empty. Whoever clicks on the basket eats the fruit and it becomes available to be picked up, but only by the one who ate the fruit. Anyone else coming by sees the empty, non-removable basket. When I find a basket I eat the fruit then, because I don't need any more baskets, put the basket on the floor so anyone can pick it up. They hold 125 items and are more attractive than those trusty old chests.

I am happy to report that barrels are, once again, in the Fel Buc's Den smithy. It must have been, as suggested above, that some idiot destroyed them yesterday.

Mighty strong words without any evidence to back up the person was a "griefer" or an "idiot". On my shard every once in a while i make trips across the lands to get all the available barrels so I can continue to build "roads" so to speak connecting my houses. Does this make me a griefer or an idiot too? Now I don't play Chessy so that wasn't my doing there, but you still need to stop and think off all the reasons people might take them before labeling people negatively.

With how many other places they are available (try the warehouses on the South Island of Jhelom where there are dozens...) I really don't see that there is any reason to take these two and stop an item spawn unless you really want to stop the spawn.

I like getting the half barrels for deco from the stable to the west of Britain. They make nice "planters" for plants!

I jsut wish the barrels, when filled with water in your hosue acted as a water trough for the purposes of endless decanters

Tazar is correct... 99% of the time it is player done for reasons unknown.. but I agree with his surmation of it.
I'd lean to the griefer trying to limit acessability to "free" refinements for others but themselves. The barrels once watered will not spawn anything.. many leave the barrles there...

They are not "gone," you just have to get there after server save and before whoever takes them. But they do respawn every morning after the server save. The ones in Felucca are usually there all day long.

I just want to point out that if you remove everything from the barrels, nothing seems to respawn. However, if you leave just one item, even bandages for example, there is a chance for the barrel items to respawn every 20 minutes.
