With the recent articles about EA's profits dropping like a rock and all of the recent layoffs I decided to do my part and activate a second account I have had sitting idle for a couple of years. Because it has been inactive it is not tied to my master mythic account.
I attempt to log into the account manager page using the e-mail it was tied to I get a message saying the username/password is incorrect. So I click on the "fogot password" link and they e-mail me a webpage where I can change my password. I attempt to change my password I get a message "an error has occured", and my password doesn't change.
Because of this I click on the help.ea.com link the e-mail have select to have someone call me back. After waiting about 10 minutes for a call he says he cannot help me that EA doesn't support Ultima Online. I attempt to do his job for him and tell him that this isn't an ultima online issue, but an EA issue since I can link all EA games to this account, and he repeats this is an ultima online issue and he can't help me. So I get frustrated and hang up.
Being the optimistic person I am I figure well maybe I just got someone new, so I decide to call back. I call the number they called me from, select the options for Origin, sit on hold for 10 minutes to hear once again EA doesn't support Ultima Online.
As I am typing this I have been waiting for 40 minutes (even though the web page says 25-30 mintes) to start a "live chat" with someone in hopes that they can help me.
Is there anything else I can do? I figured with all of the layoffs if someone wanted to give EA an extra $12 a month they would glady take it, but I guess I was wrong.
