Mana regeneration

Anyone tested this recently?
I want a new suit for a bard/caster, and with the recent changes to non-med armour, thought I should check whether it's worth considering (she has but a few points spare for meditation or focus)
From a quick test involving the second hand of my desktop clock, a pair of studded leggings, and other equipment totalling 10MR, I gleaned the following:

25 Focus, 0 Med, 0MR -> 6 regen in medable armour, 3 non-medable
25 Focus, 0 Med, 10MR -> 12 medable, 8.5 non-med

0 Focus, 25 Med, 0MR -> 6 medable, 3 non-med
0 Focus, 25 Med, 10MR -> 12 medable, 9 non-med

Regen figures are per 10 seconds, checked over 30 seconds.
Most surprising for me was that, while wearing non-med armour plus MR items, I got better regeneration from meditation than focus - the opposite of what I expected! So I'm wondering, is focus/item-based MR now affected by non-med armour too? Is meditation not completely blocked? Is studded armour 'partly medable'? Or possibly, something is not working properly after the changes and my results will change in a week or two after it's fixed...

Obviously, this is not the most robust method but I did enough repeat 10-second checks to convince myself the figures are correct. As a side note the bard's intelligence is 68, constant throughout the tests.

Try Knuckleheads.dk's Mana Regain Calculator.

From the old stratics thread which it links as the basis for the calculator, it appears to be the same maths as here:
http://www.uoguide.com/Mana_Regeneration
- which is how I expected it to work, but neither calculator matches my results. The particular line in that old post which no longer seems to apply is this:

" 5> Add the Base Mana Regen Rate, Focus Bonus, and Item Bonus. Add your Meditation Bonus only if you're not wearing non-meddable armor. The result is your total mana regeneration per second. "

Is this a human character? JOAT would apply to meditation and or focus.

Yes - but I still don't see how that would explain meditation working better than focus through non-med armour. Even if the ratio of the 2 skills would be 25/20 rather than 25/0, the meditation should be blocked by studded armour and focus should not.

To avoid answering several more posts along these lines, let me say I'm familiar with the theory of how mana regen should work. What I'd like to know is whether anyone has actually tested it since the recent changes to armour, and if so did you find it is working correctly?
