Hate to Burst anyones bubble here.. As Funny as Sending the Plagues into jail cells and into random areas of the world, if the program is written with even half a brain it will realize when its off the Beaten path, log out, generate a new character and get back to work.

Doing Small Patches Every Day won't do much either, pay attention. Its only after large patches that they stop for a short period.

What would do it? The Plagues that are trapped, keep logging in and timing out ...but are stuck. Do you suppose if we trapped enough Plagues as they regenerate , they would litter Sosaria so badly eventually that the GM, Devs and programmers might be encouraged to create a program in which players have to grab these stuck Plagues and .... ..... .... hmmmm.... *thinking out loud here, sorry*

Imagine the Plagues like a Hydra, Only for Every Head you Cut off only 1 Spawns in its place. Just because that one you have is stuck, doesn't mean it didn't log out or Create another one. The Best thing to do is Let the Dev's Do their job to try and stop them. This is a Program everyone is trying to hinder, not a player at the Keyboard. The Amount of time GM's are spending trying to hunt down/Ban these accounts is detracting from them being able to solve More Pressing Problems like Lost items or glitches. Ever Page a gm? You don't even Get a queue now, and you are lucky if they respond in 24 hours. Maybe If their List of things to do wasn't clogged with people expecting them to Clean Luna of these accounts, which doesn't even work, we could once again see our GMs.

Now that I have been chastised, let me explain that many players persue removing the books when they have time. . It isn't about me. I, like many others, am not unaware of what is involved so bothering a GM is not feasible. I have been playing UO too long .. since the first solo game appeared on the market. The books scattered everywhere are advertising outside website, which is against UO Rules of Conduct . Removing the books has become a quest; a quest with no end, a futile quest for many players.

Um.. no books on Friday nights? None on Sonoma.

YES! Sell the books! HAHA! This requires a reply! You are so RIGHT !!

A friend, in the past few months, has already made over two million selling the books.

He advises anyone selling the books - find an NPC-provisioner which the ROBOTS are least likely to buy from , eg: Ter Mur, because the books you sell are added to the limited number of books for sale by the NPC making it possible for the robots to simply buy them all back again. Instead .. make the robots chase around purchasing the limited number of 20 books at a time from numerous NPC Provisioners!

I am sick of the books...picking them up is an exercise in futility. They are putting them out more often now and in more places. The trouble is we are picking them up by hand and they are laying them down with little newbie bots..I see them running through Luna regularly. Clearly picking up the books is a losing battle. Getting rid of the book people is totally in the hands of the players..stop using their services and they will pack up and leave town. Sadly I don't think that is going to happen. *frowns*

Actually only Plague is a bot. The book droppers are all human controlled. I know because I have gotten them to talk to me and to react to my presence.

Then you must have made a lasting impression on them. Whatever I do, they never talk to me. They just take it and their script deals with it (or not).

The book placers seems lik bots to me. At least this Saturday when I followed them picking up the books the second they were dropped. They didn´t react to that.
I also stood on the spot they were dropping them, two tiles west of the char, the books bounced back to them cuz the tile were occupied and they didn´t react to that either.

Maybe some are and some are not..I know in the past (for what has seemed like years) the books were dropped at exactly the same spots every time in Luna. Now it seems like some are dropping more and in different places.

Getting to the point of ridiculousness. Honestly the crap they will do to make a buck is almost pathetic. Sadly they only do it because obviously someone buys. That's the worst part.

Here's a new TIP for anyone trying to block a BOOK-PLACING-ROBOT ___ today's ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY!

While standing in Haven Gate trying to hide for Fellucca/Shrines,so I could pick up NEW-BOOK-BEING-PLACED in dangerous spots, I heard the sound of the gate I wa standing in, - - but I wasn't moving .. someone was trying to use the same gate. I was blocking them somehow. Never saw that before so ..

Since there had been no book at that gate, I thought maybe it was a ROBOT returning over and over again trying to place the book but my horse's nose was stopping his drop spot.

I caught the name in my journal when the ROBOT has first appeared so checked for his name .. and ...

Dropplay Da Soap. He was invisible most of the time so I never got a screen shot of him.

Dropplay kept coming back to try place a book.

I stayed there for over five minutes, practicing HIDING for a newbie character's skill, while Dropplay kept coming back over and over again to try place a book but couldn't. So .. since I was having a coffee break, it was fun and I used the time to see how long it would take before he stopped trying .. haha ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. He stopped. Wonder if that threw him off for an hour.

I had logged in to see if that Vendor in the Genesis Archieves Shop East of Luna bank was gone when I got involved with picking up books and DROPPLAY DA SOAP in that Moongate. FUNNY.

I guess I am encouraging other players, who don't like the books, to turn it into a fun time while being part of the clean up committees.

WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS A BOOK SHOWED UP AT MY FEET. ROFL


A SECOND Robot went through that gate that places books in different spots, and did all the Shards, Trammel/Felucca Gates and Shrines but I picked up all books and sold them to a provisioner somewhere else on the shard. Made a few gp.

AND the VENDOR selling in-game gold/items via his ICQ number and paypal, who was reported numerous times - - on checking .. hey .. he is still there but doesn't have runes in his pack advertising his icq name and number. If I tried what they do, I would be banned. Small Accomplishment but at least something happened.
