In chests,crates ,barrels and golden boxes in shops that have a blacksmith,tailor or carpenter in Felucca.
You might need to clean out whats in them and wait for a respawn.. and watch out for the guards!

Fel only? I didn't notice that in the patch notes, but I may have missed something....
No its not in the patch notes but the stealable refinements are only in Felucca.

Don't overlook the tanner and cobbler shops in Fel....
I can't confirm or denied those if they just as single shop. Only if the cobbler (Provisioner) or Tanner where part of a tailor,smith or carpenter shop i did find refinements in the boxes.

I can confirm you can get the refinements at a shop with just tanner NPCs in it. I'm slightly fuzzy on whether or not I got refinements out of shops with just cobbler NPCs in them or if the shop also had a provisioner in it.

Thieves guild members can't give counts so you wouldn't need to be red...
That's what I hate about the patch notes. EA adds a great way of explaining everything but the location of this NPC--or even the fact that the NPC exists--is no where to be found in the patch notes. Also the bit about refinements only being in Fel towns. I guess pirates indeed provide the best bounty.No its not in the patch notes but the stealable refinements are only in Felucca.

I've decided to make a thief, but I doubt that I have the cojones (I'm a girl for one thing) for stealing from other players, so I need template advice. Of course I might have moments of exceptional bravery so suggest a template that will keep me alive etc. Also, will I need snooping? Ok, here's your chance to give me help. I'm impressed by the idea of getting those new refinements, stuff in chests, blah blah....Thanks in advance!!!
Here is the results of 3 hours of pirating.10 Ships Plundered. Plundering Merchant and Orc ships without Pirate Captains.
Only noted what seems most important to loot to me. Various fruit/vegetables and food . Wool/Cotton also looted but not in detail on this report.

To me Pirating is profitable but its up to each of you separate how to interpret these numbers.

This is Trammel and the best spots i found is north and west of moonglow near ice island. In EC and with saying Start Tracking and Stop Tracking they fairly easy to find. The best tactic to fight merchant and orc ships without Pirate captains is when you find them is to turn your ship off screen to align with them and then put your ship next to it. (When you turn your ship when the other ship is on screen they wil start to move) Then after you killed all the crew, shoot the other ship.This will avoid a lot of damage to your own ship!
I heard Tokuno has some nice spots too but i still need to check that out.
