Hello, I'll be attempting to make a suit for my scribe, I'd like to know the max MR allowed so I don't waste ingredients by over-doing it. Tx in advance for your help:]

If you are just scribing stuff, then use the 'new' loot from the likes of Shame etc. My scribe keeps a set, which he throws on when making recall scrolls and other exciting items.

I think Hen has the right idea. I save every piece of +4 MR armor and jewlery I find in Shame for stuff like this. I even have a few weapons with something like +9 MR.

The problem is that to the best of my knowledge, we have never been provided with the "Diminishing Returns" formula, so we have no idea whether or not an extra 3 MR actually makes a difference, or if it only results in an extra .3 mana regen which gets rounded off since this game uses a regen/10 second system.

One of the best methods is to party with a bard running the peacemaking bardsongs... mana regen like mad!

max mr is 30, but try that managen calculator.
Id always read/heard there was no max mr just a sliding scale? Besides Knuckleheads mr calculator,
is there anywhere this max mr 30 is mentioned? Im just trying to ascertain where you got this info.

Yea one of the devs answered the mana regen formula in a post on stratics and you dont benefit from over 30 MR on items. It was an old five on friday I think. I have the link at home but not on my tablet...

there is no CAP on mana regen, you could in theory go up to like 100 MR if you wanted to.
mana regen follows the diminishing returns rule.

so when people say there is a cap of 30 MR what they are meaning is that with diminishing returns there is no point in going PAST 30 as you gain next to nothing in your mana regeneration.
the rate of regen between having 30 and 40 MR is so small its not even worth the effort.

example.
with 100 focus, 100 med and 125 INT
30 mana regen will get you 3.2 mana per second passive and 4.4 active.
40 mana regen will get you 3.2 mana per second passive and 4.4 active.

Here are two links to Mana Regn Calculators

As of Publish 46, the Mana Regeneration item property became subject to diminishing returns. The hard cap on MR was removed.

After you hit 30 mr, you the benefits of additional mr are so tiny, like .04 extra and crap. completely not worth it.

There is a cap to it! Read the links in previous posts.

In this post: http://stratics.com/community/threads/mana-regen-formula.170563/
4C> Let Intensity Bonus be the square root of the sum of your Mana Regen intensities, capped at 5.5 (30 total intensity).

Actually when people say that MR is capped at 30 they mean exactly that...

"4C> Let Intensity Bonus be the square root of the sum of your Mana Regen intensities, capped at 5.5 (30 total intensity)."

EVERYBODY all together now! Your wrong! Apparently giving us the link that contrdicted you made everones day.... heh
