dimensional vortex guardian & Enraged Fire Steed both with the tag (Guardian) on them.

anyone ever seen one in game or played with them?

ran into about 30 of them tonight in Ter Mur and it kinda suprised me.

Guardian are from trasure chests, somone dug up a bunch of ter mur treasure chests

Interesting. If they were left behind it means the chests were never opened. You have to kill the guardians first. Unless someone knows a new trick that I don't. I may a few lvl 6 maps for ter mur. Might be worth a dig or two to see whats new. Mebbe I can get a shot or 2.

As far as I know fire steeds do not spawn off Ter Mur t-chests, I'd say it was an EM event of some sort.

Hm yeah guardians are either from treasure chests or EM events, and, while I haven't done a treasure chest in a long time, fire steeds do not seem familiar:

its definitely not a treasure chest, there are like 30 of them!

and the dimensional vortex (guardian) ive never even heard of before.
neither critter are in any monster data base either.
strangeness.
im gonna chalk it up as a rouge EM event.

The metal box and the corpse that doesn't match the name you see in-game are to me the tell-tale signs of an EM event.

Look at the Stratics Board for your shard's EMs and see if you can find out the specifics.

Also look for announcements on Stratics or on your EM's or EMs' site, and attend the events. They are quite fun as long as they aren't griefed to death.

PS: Other possibility is a treasure map as others have pointed out, I do believe there are maps on that island.

while there are treasure maps i dont think they would spawn animals that have never been seen in game before.

EM event is probably the culprit here.

Seems similar to the gargoyle quest a few years back, to obtain the "Flaming Bud"

It started in T2A, where Guardian Cyclops guarded these chests. Only the gargoyle on the quest could unlock the chest, it would then turn a different color once unlocked and you would get the flower (flaming bud)

Maybe something similar to this is in the works?

Look artwork for "Greater" Frost Dragon. New spawn for Ice Dungeon.

Let see tweek GD template list.
Breath to do cold damage instead.
Flip fire and cold resist numbers.
Take above art and switch yellow to white.
Change a Greater Dragon title by replacing Greater with Frost.
Toss into Ice dungeon three linked spawn generator rune looking thingies for "a Frost Dragon"

Yup to hard. Got tiring just typing that. The Lightning Dragon, Scynyde dragon and Granite Dragon would be to hard figuring out where they fit in the elemental damage relm also. Hint if confused on colors. Purplish, Greenish and Greyish. This is coming from someone with 3 tamers and never tamed or own a Greater Dragon on any.

Ohh and I wonder if they will have a problem picking what scale applies as skinning loot. EM me on that and the Ancient Gold Wyrm to cover the last scale color. Rare chance that spawns when a red healer rezes a blue player.

Greater Frost Dragon has been a level 7 Treasure chest spawn since the revamp, they are mean suckers (worse than Greater Dragons). As far as the OP goes, those are not from treasure maps unless they decided to throw in new spawn in the past week we never heard about.

Like most people have said, probably an event of some sort. I know I have seen [Guardian] tags on creatures at events before.
