How many are waiting for the new public?

Siege seem very slow this days, are you on TC testing or just doing RL stuff while waiting?
Some may be playing as my vendors sell out very fast when I try to stock them.

Could we use the time to make status over how many guilds we have on Siege?

I would also like to see a book with info from each guild, so I can lock it down in the NEW2 Inn or I can friend a member of the guild to the Inn, so you can keep the book updated yourself.

It will help my leaders and me advice our young players about the guilds as it's very hard to keep track of the guilds after we lost MyUO Guildpage. I may changes one of the rooms in the Inn to a library with place for guild info, event info and evt. books where the members tells about them self and what they are looking for.

If anyone do have good ideas for how to help our young players to find a guild and not be left alone when done in NEW2 please tell me.

Yeah it has been really slow the past couple of weeks :( Hopefully it is just people taking a break or waiting for the new publish or whatever though. I think also a lot of people might just be in training mode. And it still looks like we are still getting new people to Siege so that is a good sign. Lets hope things pick up again soon! :)

Well I have mainly been training and not getting out too much but I know general chat has been rather quiet lately. It might just be that people are just staying quiet though and or in training mode like me.

Fwiw I've been mining and gaining imbuing. Also busted my tamer out a few times for some PvM. Haven't been able to figure out the new design for my *very* slightly relocated shop. Moonglow Outfitters may be open this weekend but NC State plays Temple Friday afternoon along with other March Madness games so I don't know.

I also keep running into new names out there in the field which is way good.

Part of the problem may be how slow the game is running in the cloud. It's hard to be enthused and have fun as your character creeps slowly slong on a running ethy which is common these days. Definitely dampens any excitement. <shrugs with a yawn> Guess they've given up on using frustration over bad customer service and are now trying boredom from playing the game at a less than exciting speed. The packet loss since moving to the cloud certainly isn't good. <sighs> :(

Freja, a couple of years ago, a few of us collaborated to come up with a list of questions about guilds and alliances that was used to start a stickied thread in the Baja Stratics forum. [ http://stratics.com/community/threads/baja-community-guilds-alliances-template-descriptions.181151/ ]. Maybe we could do something similar in the Siege forum? I think it would be an interesting way to collect/display information for many of the guilds on Siege, whether or not they are actually recruiting new members.

Below are the questions that ultimately ended up being used for the Baja thread. A few of them might need to be modified for some of Siege's unique aspects (e.g., maybe include a question about guild policy regarding keeping, returning, or destroying items looted or stolen from another player) and some of them were unique to Baja because of a storyline the EMs were using at that time so they wouldn't necessarily make much sense to ask on Siege (e.g, the "Event Moderator Storyline Participation," "Perceived Alignment," "Political Affiliation," "Casca Storyline Status," "Gargoyle Storyline Status"). Also, the question asking for the URL of your MyUO page unfortunately doesn't need to be included.

Edited to add: Maybe Kelmo could kick off a thread for us to use to go through the process of crafting a unique questionnaire for Siege and could then make us a new stickied thread when it looks like the questionnaire template is finished?

Guild Name [Abbreviation]:The name and abbreviation of your guild or alliance.

Stone Master:
The person with the title 'Guild Leader.' In roleplaying circles, this is not always the actual leader, hence the separation.

Master/Mistress:
The person in charge of the day to day operations of the guild. Often the same as the Stone Master.

Co-Masters/Mistresses:
People who are considered to be in charge or have authority in the absence of the Guild Master/Mistress. List all applicable.

Leadership Structure:
How rank works, structure of leadership, etc.

Economic Structure:
Guild Dues, Event Financing, Reward System, etc.

Guild Loyalty:
Any restrictions a guild may require when it comes to having characters in different guilds.

Guild Type:
PvM? PvP? Spawning? Crafting? RP? Storyline? Friends?

Recruitment Process:
Is the guild or alliance currently recruiting? Are there any application, referral, probationary and/or testing requirements?

Age Requirement:
Yes or No. If Yes, what is the minimum age requirement?

Trammel? Felucca? Malas? List all that apply.

Primary Bank:
What bank do your members typically bank at.

Faction Status:
Your actual faction status, if your guild belongs to one.

Faction Affiliation:
Your affiliation doesn't necessarily mean you are actually within a faction. Certain evil groups might worship the Shadowlords, and therefore would have an implied relationship to the Shadowlords Faction. The Town Guards of Britain, being a division of the Britannian Military, would have an implied relationship to the True Britannian Faction.

This is mostly for storyline purposes. If none apply, then list "Not Applicable."

Allies & Friends:
Not just those guilds that are allied to you, but any group that you might have an implied relationship with. The Dark Tower and the Cartel might list the Britannian Purity League.

Seeking Alliances:
Yes or No. If already within an Alliance, list the name here.

Enemies & Rivals:
List guilds that you are at war with and those that you consider rivals.

War:
Is your guild willing to go to war with other guilds. Yes or No. If Yes, then list the conditions for such an event.

Scheduled Events:
Does your guild have any regular events? Are events for members only or open to the general public?

Spawning:
Yes or No.

PvM:
Yes or No.

PvP:
Yes or No.

RP:
Yes or No.

Power Scroll, Stat Scroll, Peerless Loot:
How the guild handles items acquired from group activities.

Event Moderator Storyline Participation:
Yes or No.

Perceived Alignment:
This is how society would view your guild if you choose to participate in either roleplaying or the event moderator storyline.

Political Affiliation:
This would be the country your guild is loyal to. Obviously the Town Guards would be loyal to the Kingdom of New Britannia, whereas the Guardians of Virtue would be loyal to the Kingdom of Dawn.

Casca Storyline Status:
Friendly, Hostile, or Neutral. (Historical Purposes Only.)

Gargoyle Storyline Status:
Friendly, Hostile, or Neutral.

Voice:
Yes or No. TeamSpeak? Ventrilo?

Peak Times:
The times you can expect to see the most players online. This would include days of the week.

Additional Information:
Use this space for anything else you would like to add about your guild such as rules of conduct, history, mission statement, etc.

Webpage:
If your Guild has a webpage, then please list it here.

Forums:
Does your Guild host a forum? Is so list the URL here. If no you might list Baja Stratics or your preferred online method of communication (UOForums, Social Networking Sites, etc.)

MyUO Page:
Your UOHerald Guild Roster.

Best Method to Contact Guild Leadership:
The Leader(s) ICQ, email, or other means of contact.
Edited to add: Rupert Avery also set up a website a year or so ago at uoguilds.com for guilds to be able to post their information. That site might be another resource for Siege newcomers to check if more guilds on Siege also put their information on that site. (It currently includes some info for I4NI, Gilfane, ONE, NEW, S|A.) If you decide to post your info there, be sure to take a good look around for examples, read the info on the home page and the Terms of Service and then go to the online application form at the link on the home page and put in your info. Rupert also set up a Facebook page in connection with the website: https://www.facebook.com/pages/UO-Guilds/232723020147098 .

I believe it's slow here because we, EVO, have personally laid the smack down on all the so-called PvP'ers here, especially the ones who ran their mouths. Which, ultimately has lead all of them to go into hiding and play the sneaky, sneaky game while they do spawns and farm to restock their gear, or to get stocked up for future whoopins'!

I like the idea but think there is far to many questions in this list, think the red ones should not be needed here.

Your kidding right? How does one go into hiding and play sneaky sneaky when they do open spawns, farming, and more? This isn't Atlantic where you fight at Yew Gate. You've always had to find the fight on Siege. People never go around announcing where they are. Running around Luna and claiming a victory is pretty sad.

I think a lot of people just been busy IRL, least on our side of the fence. I know I've yet to be able to log in this week and will not be around till next week with so much going on.

I think Gen Chat being quiet is just cause some people are sick of the Gen Chat PvPers or don't wanna risk being paged on for non-sense or don't feel like listening to people's BS. Seems a Siege popular these days is to page on everyone, even as Morgan Ironfist stated. I guess that helps the Siege population right?

I have not really had trouble finding people when I am on. Remember, this is Siege and you can't judge the population by Gen Chat or seeing people. There is always people doing something. I know for a week straight, we were doing 4-6 spawns a day to get sold gold together and scrolls for people re-working templates. I think the only people who raided with MONK/PBR which is the new alliance from Pacific I believe.

If you want action or to find people, you have to look for it.

Yeah true judging it off general chat isn't the best way and good point about the gen chat pvp. It being a bit quieter in gen chat can be kinda nice anyway sometimes before it was literally a wall of constant blue text.

The last two weeks were Spring Break for many of the Schools in the US - so many families were on vacation or visiting family, etc. Hopefully it will pick back up very soon. :)

I've been busy with moving into the first IRL house, so unfortunately I haven't had much time for UO as of late.
I did that the summer 2009 and it sure made me play less than when I lived in 3 room at second floor. I still have to find time for house and garden together with playing UO. At the summer, it will effect my playtime.

Also, this is Spring Break for many colleges in the U.S. right now. Shoot, when I drove in to work today (50 miles) the traffic was unusually light and someone told me it was because it's Spring Break. Makes sense to me - many who are college age are at the beach or ski resorts, depending on where they live. And many U.S. families take a week long vacation during spring break because the kids are all out of school. After being in a house all winter, it's time to get out!

So I suspect that is a big part of it.
