House pets have been something I have always wanted. Even if its just stationary like a vendor.Might be a nice idea ..but i doubt the dev will run with it.. a Stable you can attach to the house .. not the hitching post but a stable where pets can sit... like the cooop for chickens, turkeys squirrls, ferrits, ... I'd lik a house pet bit too where i can have a dog who is happy to se me like I had in 97 /98 and my cat and bunnys ... They didnt go wild and poof id like them to be attached to the house an stay tamed
Heh yeah I miss those times. I had back room full of mage lords, and my friends had an ancient wyrm living in their tower. Good times. In 97 I had a dog at my tower who would bark and follow me all over the house and he stayed tamed but i did feed him every night before i logged... and at my castle i had 3 regular rabbits and a jack rabbit and 1 cat. Had a GM come one day and we got to talking ... back then they were more friendly and less formal. He was shocked when i showed him that my jack rabbit even though he had gone wild was still answering to commands.... J.J. was a special bunny he said and he tried to command him too untamed and jj answered him! I was sad the day I logged in and found him and the rest of my babys gone.. I miss that happy tail wagging when i go home to my houses.

Why just for CC users? You think EC users want to listen to all that?If the dev team gives us "house pets," it would be nice if they would also give us an option within the Classic Client (for those of us who use it without also using UO Assist) to be able to selectively turn off the sounds of barking dogs, meowing cats, neighing horses, clucking chickens, crowing roosters, grunting pigs, and any other types of house pets without completely disabling all sound so we don't have to listen to a neighbor's menagerie.
I can't speak for Tina Small, but my interpretation is that she thinks that Pinco will release that option within a few minutes while CC never gets enough love from anyone. Why just for CC users? You think EC users want to listen to all that?
Yes, I didn't mention the EC because I figured Pinco probably already has "noise pollution controls" on his "to do" list as a possibility, if they're not there already.I can't speak for Tina Small, but my interpretation is that she thinks that Pinco will release that option within a few minutes while CC never gets enough love from anyone.
It still wouldn't help you if you happen to live next door to a braying jackass. While i agree with the noise polution controll ... have you ever thought the Dev could give pet a menu of what they can and cant do??? an on off for noise and such ...
Who wouldn't want a different color pet for each different colored outfit? If allowing someone to have each color of a pet or each creature in the game is what they want to do more power to them. If something keeps someone in the game then that is alright by me...opposite viewpoint of yours completely. On one hand, who wouldn't like a few more stable slots? Even as a non-tamer I like to keep a few novelty pets around, maybe a couple of vollems.
On the other hand, I don't really want to encourage some psychopathic hoarder to try taming every single color of every single creature in the game. Because you know that's what will happen. Just like the nut screaming for more house storage because they just can't bear to part with any of their 8000 anniversary cakes, someone will be on here telling us how their 40 tamed magpies are their "babies" and they need more stable slots.
In the old days, the tames were part of the stable they were stabled on that server. You had to remember what stable you stabeled what pet in. Contrary to popular belief, the stable was limited. Anyone that played then will remember not being able to stable a pet from time to time and had to go find an empty stable somewhere. Publish 16 brought a plethora of changes including stable slots, follower slots and bonding. The upside was that even though you stable your pets now, they remain part of your character, thus the ability to claim at any stable. The fact that they are part of your character may create some limitations. As far as stable slots, I am ok with increasing them. I am not however good with increasing folower slots even thoug it would benefit my multiple tamersI don't know, I never bought that add on, so I can't say. Regardless you shouldn't have to abuse a game mechanic to have enough room for the pets you want.
I honestly don't know why there are any stable limits at all, or at least why the stable limits aren't super high. The only argument against unlimited stable slots is an issue of data, and I refuse to believe that pets are THAT much more data than say, a sword..
And as you say you can have an unlimited (is that true?) number of pets in bazaar stalls, so its clearly not an issue of data.
But I mean seriously, if (big if) you have 120 in vet, lore, and taming you have a paltry 16 stable slots to deal with. Considering the fact that there are nearly 100 different tamable creatures, many of which are pack animals, which would require multiple of the same animal to hunt with, and a several have many different colors... 16 simply is not enough slots.
I have never seen a reason as to why the stable slots are so limited. I wonder if its not some screwy thing in the code or something seeing as stables slots used to be tied to the sever the stable was on?
Anyone remember back in the day when people blocked the spawn of nightmares by taming them, and walking them up to the Del stables, so that it had never left the server, and thus didn't go back into the spawn pool, and thus didn't respawn. Do stables like... count the creatures stabled in them as on the server someplace or something idiotic like that?
I wonder. Anyway, it's super annoying.
Why not? If someone wants to keep 50 crows that should be their business. It would have zero effect on any other player. On the other hand, I don't really want to encourage some psychopathic hoarder to try taming every single color of every single creature in the game. Because you know that's what will happen. I certainly don't think they should up follower slots that would have a potentially huge effect on game balance. More stable slots on the other hand would have none.In the old days, the tames were part of the stable they were stabled on that server. You had to remember what stable you stabeled what pet in. Remember when you could tame as many animals as you wished and have them follow you? Beast Boy and I had dozens of friendly Dragons marching around the countryside .. giving them away to anyone who wanted one since anyone could own one who wasn't able to tame one. Tamers were considered "wimps" until the nightmare was introduced to the game then every man and his dog wanted to have a tamer and were even buying Tamer Accounts for high prices. I personally don't think stable slots should be tied to skill at all. First of all, it doesn't make thematic sense, why would the stable master allow me to stable more pets if I am better at taming them? Second of all, its just pointlessly limiting. Low stable limits offers nothing to the game. It only inhibits enjoyment and variety. All that aside, additional stable slots have been provided according to the skill level of tamers thus players who do the work to have the skills of a strong tamer get the benifits of more stable slots.
Additional spots for other players won't hurt anyone's game play. with that I agree.
Players require a high skill level of Tamer to own and control the higher level of pets. So having more stable slots isn't going to change that for a non-tamer.
