I cant even enlarge those pictures to see what you mean. As long as you don't mess with the zoom in the EC its the exact same art and scale and look.

Too bad the EC uses 2D artwork which is too low resolution which ends up causing this effect. It's also too bad that so often when pictures are posted with the EC the thread has to be derailed.

has anyone figured out how to get in the secret area?
I think I have an idea about secret room..Entrance might be linked to the pentagrams. One in the Secret R. And one on stairs in harpsicord room. Maybe its secret word like the recsu/recdu one. Any thoughts?

Well if it's a secret word to enter, while on the pent., it's not "Blackthorne" or any of the other characters I tried. Too easy. Dermott, Not sure if you were kidding about the Harpsicord but, if not, are they playable, how?

You're right. I've been so focused running around, trying to figure out the puzzle, that I hadn't really checked out the castle. A lot going on here, very cool. I can see some events around this. Probably to allow EM "talk"/crowd based events without them being covered up by spammers and dragon wings.

Well, I managed to log off in that spot before the publish hit on Atlantic. I cant enter down the stairs, the house teleporter thingy you cant stand on, and nothing else in there does anything that I can find

That sounds like an excellent guess to me.
Everyone will be stocking up on pet summoning balls, hoping they'll work there for bringing pet(s) to you.
If they do that, though, how would it work on Siege? The bridge to Castle Blackthorn (in Fel) is blocked on Siege and the front gate is locked, but the old castle still remains, with Pepta the Royal Tastetester still handing out the "I Think I Overate" quest in the kitchen. Plus there's Blackthorn's sarcophagus....what could they do with that?
And if they put the new castle there instead and make it a "no pets, no spells" area, that would seem to give an unfair advantage to any faction dexxers that might fall upon mages or tamers who decide to visit, doesn't it? As far as I can tell from running around the castle on Origin, it's still in Britain's guard zone (never got a message about leaving guard zone when crossing over to the new island). However, on Siege it would still be Fel and faction characters can fight each other inside guard zones.

That's what I thought too. But as I was navigating the waters around the Castle, I saw her name came up and that made me even more bound and determined to break in and see her in person!!! (I could get her to give me the quest while sitting in a boat on the water, but I just HAD TO find a way in and say goodbye, as I have a funny feeling that area's probably going to change somehow. Took some screenshots of the other floors but didn't post them if anyone from Siege wants to see them.)
Edited to add: Pepta is also in the Cat's Lair on Siege. Just double-checked now. Bizarre.

All you can do is float around, I was on a new small row boat. You could not actually walk anywhere, but you could float room to room & see what was in each. It was like stuff was there but you could walk/pass thru it without any obstructions.
Boy in 3d that hurts my eyes and head.......
In this case I think that the colors were chosen for their meaning rather than aesthetics - the new Castle Blackthorn is black and red, like Blackthorn's Chaos symbol.
(I also think that the colors look nice, but this is just personal taste...)
Not to nitpick but since we can't use spells, so not able to recall in or out, it would be nice to have a "Leave House" option to bring us outside near the bridge. The place is huge and if you happen to be upstairs, in the back as I was, and want to leave by the time you get to the bridge you need cpr. Fyi, I noticed the addition of 2 healers at the castle, today, what are they needed for? ha ha

I suggested a use for the location in an EM event on my shard, and the EMs stated they aren't allowed to set anything under Castle Blackthorn as those stairs have an intended use in the future... but they couldn't discuss what it was, and possibly they didn't know, only that they weren't allowed to write any alternatives for under the Castle for now.
I would love to have the ugly black or Luna white for my castle walls than that hideous gray walls I have now.

Thanks Adol. I just wish "they" would have said, way back then, that it was for future use and not available yet. Some of us thought it was a mystery (see posts above) we were supposed to solve. How do we get in, is it a secret word, a secret entrance, where do those stairs lead? Thought they had created a fun diversion, instead, just a waste of time. I had even made a bet with one of my buds that I'd get in first, so I guess on the upside I can say I didn't lose, lol.
