Would it be neat if we could sell skills we train?

Make special soulstones that work between everybody's accounts. Example: I train Mining to 100.0, put it on the new soulstone & then sell it on a vendor.

These would work like regular soulstones with the exception that "anyone" could use them.

Scripters would be the ones to make money out of this.
If someone really wanted to GM a skill, they could by a mythic token from the Origin store and you're already just about there.
Taking the time to build your character and train skills is part of what makes UO what it is. It's also a sense of accomplishment once you finally hit the GM or higher mark.

No. It's bad enough already don't need to make things worse. There are pinks and blues for folk to raise skills pretty quick as it is... if they are willing to pay for it.

Bad Idea all around. It would give Scripter's and Gold Farmer another revenue source. And the Dev Team should be looking for ways to remove that kind of activity from the Game. Like the Idea of Implementing a Vendor Search Engine. We've needed something like that for Years. I really hope they follow through on that.

On way an in game search engine beats out third party is if u can buy item off it like diablo for $..unfortunately people will still buy items off third party sites no matter what kind of search engine the devs incorporate..you don't go there oh hey where can I buy this item, oh wait what's this? I can spend money..


On the OP, not too sure that'll happen would like to xfer weaving to my other account though forget reworking that to 120 lol

Would also increase the chance, that multi account holders consolidate accounts by transferring the skills to their characters on main accounts (besides rewarding script training even more if you do it for yourself).

Do you wake up each morning and ask yourself "What dumb idea can I come up with today?" This would be a scriptors dream come true. As it is you can already buy skills, SoT's, SoA's, and if you feel like giving your account information to a gold site, you can pay them too.

Scrolls Of Transcendance (sp) they let you up your level in a skill by a few.1's and can be combined.

Set up soulstoned skills to have an original account code and have them transferable to any game account on the same Mythic account. The skill will work fine on any of those accounts as long as the origonal account it came from remains open. The origonal account closes and the skill stops working. I'd move skills sitting on soulstones on my main two accounts to a third account and set up characters there. Not having to swap skills on and off soulstones would be well worth an additional $10 a month and save the hassle of retraining those skills.

I'm another 'no'.
What I have wished for, now and then, was a way for a soulstone to 'clone' a skill. So if I've trained a skill to maximum on one character I could copy it to another on the same account without having to train it all over again. Provided of course that the second character had eaten the relevant power scroll, if required. It would have been so nice to copy lockpicking from my treasure hunter to my thief, for example.

Cloning was something I covered a few times. Just don't see it right for skills that burn materials to gain. Crafting skills pretty much covers it.

I will vote yes for the OPs ideal as soon as dentist start using fire crackers for tooth removal.

I'm not for supporting scripting and 3rd party sales sites as much as anyone. However, if this is the only concern, then why should we be put out, yet again, worrying about the bad guys when players could benefit from something. Too many things that need changed isn't changed over the worry about 3rd party sales. The Devs have chosen to combat the 3rd party sales by making the things they sell to have less value. I am sure there is a way to have some proverbial cake and eat it with relish... yech.....

Gee we doing better then congress and we never go on vacation breaks every few days....
There has been a time when I thought about how nice it would have been to move a character or two to another account for the sheere convience of it.... but it was only a passing idea as then I started to think of all the misuse of it. Granted many dont have the luxury of building up perfect characters on the RL time scale and so on.,.. yada yada.. RL is a big reason UO is dwindleing. But and this is a big one...... 99% of us know how to build up a decient character in under 24 to 48 hours. Clearly a few days time to getting a passable one up and running the lands. It dont take tokens or massive soulstone usage... just time. Ask any who opened up Origin or Lake Austin... and this was before the turn in suits and imbuing! Just plain brain power on how to max you time in game and gain.

This is what it will do. Can you hear it now in Gen Chat "Selling skill blah blah xxx million" Scripters dream. Would you please tell us what the Devs did and when to make this happen? I know they screwed over miners and lumberjacks and this hurt 3rd party sites how?
