Ku Ort, if I remember right, is one of the various spells used by The Slasher of the Veils. There are a few NPCs that tend to call out spells that aren't of our typical spellbook.

Think Radian's right, ironically digging one of my journals didn't find Ku Ort but did have ;

Slasher of Veils: *Mur Kal Ort*

So, was Startle hunting in the Abyss at the time of these strange spells being noticed?

Isn't it unusual to see an npc such as Slasher actually speak words of power? 99% of the time we don't know if a mob has casted on us until it lands.

It is unusual to see an NPC's words of power.

However, there are several exceptions, including the Slasher and the Crimson Dragons, and presumably any EM monster based on them.

The Slasher of Veil's words of power for his unusual spells are sometimes seen. Same for Crimson Dragons. And, therefore, presumably, any EM monster based on them. The links Petra provided, for example, are to EM events, both of which appear to feature something called an "exodus dragon."

From the 2nd article:

I am not, nor have I ever been a linguist. But during our battle I came to understand that Mur Kal Ort is Exodus Dragonese for “You will fry”. Every time the red abomination uttered those words people would definitely fry.

I remember first seeing Ku Ort during the phase of the Crimson Dragon / Shadowlord story with the Named NPCs wearing black Dragon Armor. They were called "The Six" (http://www.uoguide.com/The_Six). It is a nasty spell. It does alot of damage and dismounts.

I do not appreciate Ku Ort. I do not know the other spell.

Ok, back to explain how it came about that I saw these spells cast...

I was watching a YouTube video posted by a Russian player where a Gargoyle thrower and friends were taking on The Slasher of the Veils. The player making the video was outside of the rotunda and could only see the spells cast, not who (or it turns out what) was casting them... So it was the Slasher casting them after all, and I had never seen them before...

BTW, I've included the video below if you want to watch... The HD quality is excellent and I really enjoyed listening to igroglaz (known as tangar here) describe the action in Russian... Prior to listening to the video here (for the best part of an hour) I have had minimal contact with Russian speakers, and always felt like the language came across as - well (in males at least) a bit grumpy... But I have certainly changed that silly opinion after listening for a while - I found the voice (language) to be quite soothing... The Slasher, however, did not appear to be of the same opinion....:)

Makes me wish I could run the Enhanced client, damn't.... Anyway, you're right - the narrator does have a soothing sort voice. But I may be biased, my stepdad is Russian and he's really cool... Thx for sharing the thoughts and video, Startle ;)
