Thats one huge patch....are we downloading the whole game again

...thanks! That's okay then. I thought that the display was borked because it's taking forever although it only says 50mB, but I guess it must just be intricate or something. I don't know how patches work.

I did a beta for an MMO once and we would get 4-8gig "patches" all the time, I was sending jump drives with the files to other members of the beta a lot.
LOL Really.
I`ve played other games that have their maintenance on prime time days and than make ya patch up a quik and easy 4-600 mb`s before ya can get back in. Not to mention their maintenance down times are usually expected to last for hours!
UO is not bad at all compared to alot of others.
I agree, the FPSs also get 2-3GIG patches regularly

I patched both clients this morning and it took under 10 seconds each. It may not be you - it may be a router somewhere between you and the server.
Haven't you been following the boards? There's a new publish coming, and it was published to TC yesterday.
Mine is going really slow as well. Kind of like the lag in game sometimes too. Maybe because it's one large file instead of lots of smaller ones??? On CC artLegacyMUL.uop shows 50MB and total patch is 52MB. Anywho I should be able to log in sometime soon

51Meg isn;t that big of a patch... took about a minute or so for me.
In my one year or so trrying out WoW (before I hit max level on numerous chracters and explored everything and got bored) I was just happy when the occasional patch was below 100 mb.
~50MB is big... perhaps if we were still living in the 90s.
Well it took me just over 30 minutes to download it.....so its big enough ...just sayingTook the whole of 4 minuets to down load. I dont call that a big patch. Just saying

I downloaded the 55 mb CC patch last night at 9:00 pm est. and it took about 30 minutes.
Today I downloaded the 51 mb EC patch at 1:30 pm est and it took less than 20 seconds.

Started the download ... went fora cup of tea... filled the kettle, turned it on set up the cup and tea waited for the water to steam, fixed the cup came back and it still was downloading.... ok daughter wanted her farm tended while she was at work sooo off i went to her "farm" fed animals waters plants & trees made her a tad bit of farm gold and loged off...... still patching... ok hmmmm ok had idea loaded up stratics.............. read a good deal of posts and replayed to a few and kept my eye on the patcher. Finally! it was done. this all ran a tad under 30 minutes. it must be alot of small changes.. I have had WoW patched 3x s as big move faster. Note: we are damn lucky we dont havethe mantence of WoW players... they dont have the game 1 day a week. What would you do if you coudlnt log in for 24 hours.... I think UO would have been dead by now... had that been the case.
This was our experience too. My hubby plays CC and his took ages, I play EC and mine was barely noticeable. Very strange.

Yet me and my son did the download in under 5 mins both for the CC and a 55MB download is not a large download these days, 10 years ago yes, but not today.
So the answer may be that EA is not giving out enoug badwidth to UO for the Download. But the size of the down load is tiny, if the OP thinks 55MB is large maybe he doesnt download much these days

Reading this completely inane thread took longer then the patch
