Today is My Daughter's Birthday!

Why is that significant to any of you? Well, it probably isn't. However, My username here and my main character name in game is Rowan Elizabeth. That is my daughters name. Today she turns 18 years old. She has finally made it to adulthood.

I will not be using this name any more. The name now belongs to here 100%. I don't know if that is a good enough reason for Stratics to allow me to change my username or if I have to set up a new account. I guess I need to come up with a name change token in game and a name for my character!

I am open to suggestions for a new name both on here and in game. My character in game is a pure mage with spellweaving and is a female elf. so let the suggestions represent that!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful daughter!

About a new name: anagrams!

I love using anagrams when I name my characters. E.g. my new thief is named Madilyn Gastley, which is an anagram for 'my stealing lady'. :)

I say keep your name and have it be a tribute. Especially if you roleplay the character's personality to be like your daughter's. Like how George Martin modeled the Game of Thrones families after the Wars of the Roses (Lancaster becomes Lannister, and York becomes Stark). Or like how a fantasy king might be named Edward or Henry, in tribute to RL medieval English monarchs.

For elf names I've always flipped through the Tolkien elf dictionary. Get some words that mean something to you, like picking the colour of your daughters eyes and find the elvish equivalent, then string the words together. So for example if your daughter has green eyes, it would translate as Calen'elee. Or "Calen'elee Tinu" for green, eye, daughter. Or "A'mael Tinu" translates as "Beloved Daughter" .

You may want to use Tangled Metal(RowanElizabeth) at the bottom of your posts for awhile till we get sue to the new name.

This is an awesome feel good thread. I love your OP and am very happy Petra took care of the name change (the choice of which could not be better).

Since we are comparing child production, I am in with 36 yo twins daughters, 27 yo daughter, 19 yo daughter, 8 yo son, 7 yo grandson, 6 yo grand daughter, 6 yo grandson. It is a work in progress, check back for frequent updates.

Was it free or did you have to pay for a Stratics Name Change token? You should have bought the reincarnation token, then you could have changed your name, race and gender...you know, in case you want to try something different.

If we're talking kids.... I'm the oldest son of a 15 year UO player (19 myself). Grew up on this game and still play a bit.

So let me see if I have this right, your oldest is 36 (twins girls), 27 girl, 19 girl, and 8 boy. At least you got a boy at the end. I am not trying to be mean or anything, but you would think after 3 girls you would have figured out what was causing this to happen, don't you think. Or you just got lucky all four times you did it. JK

Also this name change is the most significant name change in my life since Metta World Peace. Will take me awhile to get used to Tangled Metal :O. :)

Tangled Metal is the name of my business. I make chainmail jewelry (and armor, but not a lot of armor these days) for a living. I make rings out of bare wire and put the rings together to make chainmail. Manytimes I end up with a lot of rings that get tangled up before I organize them. That is where the name comes from.

oops, misread that youngest part. my youngest is also 30 and my g/kids are 23, 20. 20, 16, 13, 4, and 11 months.

My name in-game has finally been changed. I went with Rowan MacCool and changed the character to male. Rowan is both a man and woman's name and my ancestral name is MacCumhail (or Cumhail) which is pronounced MacCool in that funny Irish accent. I just want you all to be aware that the Name Rowan Elizabeth is no longer being used. If anyone tries to tell you different it is a lie. I do still have characters named Rowan Elizabeth on most all shards (Including Seige) I will not be playing them. This was a huge step for me after 15 years. But is is now done. See you on the field of battle!
