So with our EM leaving us.. I see most servers still going on with events and their own arcs. Will we get a new one? Will they ask for applicants? Does anyone know what will happen?

I think something will happen. Remember when Messana came onto Siege a few days before our EM's last day? She didn't talk a whole lot, but she said that she was over to "check on something." Now, that might have had something to do with the Valentine's thing, or maybe the 'second house' thing, who knows. But if they didn't care about the shard, Messana (or is that Mesanna - I can never remember!) would never have bothered to come to look at anything - she would have sent someone else. So I think that they care a lot more about us than we usually realize. (And rightfully so, since probably 90% of soulstone sales go to this shard, lol.) It might take them some time to find the right person, but I'll betcha there's a job notice up someplace. . . .

I just want to make sure we don't get left out. A lot of shards like GL and ATL have weekly events and stories.. We have a garden and thats about it..

For the record, the garden is cool and took a lot of work, but I mean.. These people have weekly events with drops and story lines.. Pretty in depth cool things. I just feel like Siege is really getting shafted here. If there was something worthwhile in doing, we wouldn't feel the need to get bored and PK everyone. Just saying........

There was an EM in training on Napa Valley a few weeks ago but it was said the EM was not going to be staying on Napa. I'm assuming something like this (if not this specific example) is in the works for bringing in a new Siege EM.

That's the thing Rumpy, Atlantic does have active EMs (yes plural), but the events aren't really Siegeish. The events I've seen on Atlantic are great for tamers not much else. One of Atlantic's EMs (Tiberus / might have spelled it incorrectly), shut down an event before it started cause 1 person was being disruptive. That would never go over well on Siege. Aurora was great, very open minded. If they can't find another like that from existing staff, I really hope they find someone that already plays the shard then.

I have, multiple times, I must not make the cut for some reason.

I would seriously apply for EM to make sue thingsnever got shut down and we had good events.

The problem with that is you cannot be an EM on a shard you play, to avoid cat-calls of favoritism.

It's always been the route. And we have had at least two EMs from siege before, so there is precedent.

That's interesting, we really need Siege to be the exception to that rule. Someone that plays the shard would have a better understanding of things to do to make it fun. I think there are people here that could be neutral.

Siege may indeed be the exception, in which case go for it. All I know is I've been told I could not EM for Legends if I was hired.

Im sure while most may say I am vile and ruthless, these are just sides of laying UO. I am a veryy good writer as some have seen and would really get into an RP sense. I think it would be fun.

Y'know, I don't think she did. Because there were too many things she had to revisit because there was stuff on Siege that was different from other shards. [Example: Her choice of Aurora for her name. She didn't know that there was already a well-established Aurora on the shard.] She might have lurked for a while on the shard before she started, but that wouldn't have been enough for her to catch the name thing. I have no facts to base any of this on, but it's part of the author thing - picking apart what makes everyone act the way they do (very important for the writing).

Mesanna has known the shard for a long time, and I suspect that she had a say in choosing Aurora and how she was trained. After all, from a developer's point of view, they have every reason to want to make every shard as playable and enjoyable as possible. So my best guess is that this just takes much longer than any of us would like. And yeah, that's just a guess. But I don't think she had played Siege before. imho
