My new whammy thrower needs your advice

Ok, thanks to some great template advise from some of you here - I now have finally finished training my brand new Thrower... Here's what he has:

Throwing 120
Tactics 120
Anatomy 120
Chivalry 120
Bushido 120
Spirit Speak 100
Necromancy 40

Before I go tackle some really hard stuff, I thought I'd go back down to Shame and farm a bunch of kewl weapons and armor off the Unbound EV's down there. Trouble is, I have no idea what I'm doing - and since the UEV's are not really pushover's (well, I can go down there with my Tamer and get really bored really fast while my pretty good GD kills them in - what - 15 mins) - they won't be pushovers to my new Thrower without your expert advice here...

So.... If you had my template (and I know at least 1 of you do, NuSair) and you wanted to farm the UEV's -

1) What should I focus on when my 120 Gargoyle Imbuer/120 Blacksmith/ 120 Tailor, et.al. (and has ready access to most all ingredients) takes up the task of making a suit for this?
2) How would you fight them? (EoO, Curse Weapon, Special Moves - stuff like that)...
3) What's the latest on luck? Over or under 1000?

Your contributions here are always welcome and appreciated ( assuming you are civil )...o_O

I always use a tank (i.e. sampire with bush & parry) for UEV. I personally wouldn't use a thrower down there, but I am also interested to hear other techniques. It seems to me you'd pull too much spawn to you if you kept moving.

Hmmm... You do have a point.... I used my tamer in the area by the water, on the other side of the bridge from the red whatever's... I would expect that there will be times when I'm up against 2 of the UEV's (which would mean a lot of running)...
Hmmm... So what has loot the quality of the UEV's that would be easier for my new Thrower while he learns how to use this template?

I thought UEVs teleport archers and throwers right next to themselves. Maybe I am wrong, but I thought this was one of the main reasons against distance fighting against them. Congratulations on finishing your character.

Thx kRUXCg7... I have only been there with my Tamer, and have no idea if the UEV's can do that...
Can anyone confirm this? If the UEV's aren't practical, what has loot as good as them that my Thrower could take on?

Several people have been telling me that Covetous L3 is the way to go if you want nice loot. Loot might be even better than from UEVs. It is a very... busy... place in my opinion. Read about Covetous within some Stratics threads, too. A friend of mine is an archer, she's hunting there every other day, so I guess a thrower would be ok there.

Edit:
Links to Stratics-threads about Covetous Level 3. Maybe we can lure Eaerendil here? Found his name in several threads where people talk about Covetous L3. He seems to be an expert.
While you're there, I could use a good 10% SSI ring or bracelet! :)

I think the wraith thrower is best against slow, but otherwise fearsome bosses. Slasher, Stygian Dragon and Rikktor to name the most prominent.

Hi!

It´s not exactly enlightenment. Point is: I am very good in managing the mobs in cove. This, however, does not imply that I am very good in looting tremendously valuable stuff. There are others who dig up stuff worth BILLIONS from shame, for example. So, I am not the best benchmark if you wanna get rich.

But if you want to survive in Cove without getting a single scratch, I you want to fight the mobs there while sitting relaxed on your chair, sipping your Cocktail and watching TV - here is the strategy:

Mystic-Rouser-Stealther. The ULTIMATE Cove-Template, if you ask me. Stealth in, provoke the lesser (e.g. Onis) on the higher monsters (e.g. Fire Daemons), drop an occasional Rising Colossus, and loot hidden in stealth mode, so that you have all the time you need to evaluate the stuff. You won´t find a faster and more reliable template for LVL 3.

LVL 4 is different: Drop Provo and make a Mystic-Mage-Stealther. You need more firepower for killing less monsters. Stealth inside, unlock the magically locked doors, go inside, close the door. Cast Energy Fields, Cast Rising Colossus, and then Flamestrike him to death with a Slayer book...

I have been there with Tamers too, but I don´t like Tamers down there. To much work with healing while you are unhidden and object of attacks. To hectic for me...

Thats my Cove-Masterplan. But never Forget: This does not imply TONS of good loot... Shame might be better in some places...

Thank you very much, highly appreciated. I had no idea you can loot while hidden / stealthing. Just one more thing: Hello startle ! This is your thread, please enjoy.

well, you cant exactly loot, but you can walk around in stealth and check all corpses and items without being disturbed....

Exactly the kind of info I was hoping to get here... Mobs and the TACTICS you use to fight them... Thanks very much Eaerendil...;)
