EC help? :/

I just got my new computer so I've been toying with the EC a bit and I kind of like it to an extent..it's smoother and wayy less laggy but I'm having issues I was wondering if an EC expert can help me solve

1. Sound drops out on me occasionally not a huge deal but semi annoying

2. My spell cursors don't seem to come up when I hit them to cast sometimes it feels like I have to hit them one or two more times (I play a Mage this is crucial)

3 and this is a big one...tonight after fighting for some 2-3 hrs I couldn't get a res gump to pop up and once I was ressed I froze in place and could still see everyone else moving, the only way I could red was to load up CC res then log back to EC. Never the less I stopped playing it for awhile

1) Do you have a usb sound card by any chance? You can check for sound card latency problem with this tool: http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

2) In EC you can set a spell to target self/current rather than to cursor. So for these a cursor won't come up. If it's not that it might be a lag issue? Try pinging your server and report what ping you have (>80 is bad)

3) this happens somewhat rarely: you cannot issue any more commands (movement etc) but can still see whats happening. Relogging fixes it

Things like healing spells etc sometimes default to "target self". Hover over the icon in your hotbar, if it says Target Self, like kongomongo says, it will automatically cast it on yourself without a cursor. If you want the cursor, right click the icon, choose Target from the menu, and choose Cursor. Spells such as EBolt will also default to "targeted" so will automatically cast on whatever is targeted. You can change these the same way.

The EC by far does offer you a lot more, and I really suggest looking into getting Pinco's UI before you really get into learnign teh EC. Pinco's offers so much more to the client. It will take a few to learn, and EA majorly dropped the ball when they didn't invest on a proper EC guide for players to use. I think that has been a major downfall for a lot of people when trying it out.

All my key bindings are right and if I cast each individual spell slowly the show up just fine with a cursor but when I get Ito heavy battles the response time seems nonexistent

Try Disabling hardware death effect located under the graphics tab!

Caz I also have the same spell problem. If I am PVMing on my mage I dont notice it. But if i decide to Duel someone I have to hit the button multiple times. I am a west coaster on an east coast shard, but Everything else works fine. I am super fast in EC to the point that I get called a speed hacker all day, but as you stated The spell play is really buggy. For example if I am going to try and Mini heal my self on defense I can only do it at half the speed that i can usually do it on the CC. Also I use classic cursor targeting.

I had all kinds of problems until I did that. Everytime I died I had to switch to 2d in order to rez or see any of the terrain. Otherwise it was super distorted.

As far as spell cursors not showing... I have had this happen to me a few times. I think its something new because it hasn`t happened to me in the past. Just the past couple weeks. Seems like if I cast G heal for example and target myself a split second before the cursor appears.... i get no cursor OR a g heal and than have to recast. Not alot we can do about that at the moment I`m afraid. I`m sure Pinco`s on it.... I`d surf over to his site and check it out,lots of answers there.

I forget the option ( I will try and find it when I log on) but its a manual gump re-size or something like that. It allows you to put your cursor over your bags or health bars and scroll the mouse to make them larger or smaller.

I believe what you are talking about is scale mode and its about half way down the menu. I didn't realize it worked on healthbars though. Cool...

With Pinco's UI it works with almost anything.

I'm not having an issue seeing the terrain and after a bunch of testing the Rez gump is only not popping up when I'm on Pinco's otherwise it works great..problem is EC sucks without Pinco's

I have not had the res gump problem but then again I run with almost everything turned off. The only thing I cant stop from popping up is the Low Health warning that flashes on the screen even though I turned the option off.

I'm not sure what option I messed with but after a uninstall fresh install it seems to working again for now

Right click the EC sound speaker lookin thing in your bottom right hand corner and exit it. I hate that too
