You put up the temp art when you came to Atlantic after our epic revert. You said you would let us know when we could get the flags. It has been a long time now. Are we getting our nifty flag any time soon? Just wondering. Thanks!

Well, to be fair, she'd actually popped in to ask about an issue people were having with lagging while recalling (which was a rather irritating issue). People started demanding to know when we were getting the Jolly Roger, so she told them that they were working on making it better.

The whole reason I brought it up was Mesanna told us she was working on it. I know she reads the boards. She also probably gets tons of emails. I thought she might see this before she reads her email.

Actually, my post does add to the conversation, it goes to show the importance of public communication instead of informing a select few who happen to be on at the time of the "announcement".

Maybe Mesanna's announcement on Atlantic was just because there was no need to announce it to all of UO that Atlantic was going to get an item that was not being given to everyone else. Maybe it was I who was in the wrong for making a private announcement public. Oops, my bad again.

This wasn't something that was asked for, it was offered, by Mesanna to the people of Atlantic.

IMO it is very hard to find US players, and to a certain extent players from outside the US, that do not have ties to Atlantic. Like many others whose main shard is not Atl, I still have several fully developed characters and a vendor there. We were affected by the revert too. To make any sort of announcement ingame only to those who happen to be logged onto that shard at that time ignores a huge population of UO.

A few other thoughts...

If it is indeed a Pirate Flag with Skull & Cross Bones then it's not fair to have it given out only on Atlantic. A Skull & Cross Bones Flag should be a drop (like for Chardbydis for example who doesn't drop anything of value or a Veteran Reward) that everyone has access to.

Gametime was enough compensation and nothing more needs to be done. Stop introducing items that only parts of the playerbase has access to like Veteran Rewards it creates dissension amongst the playerbase.

Everyone and their brother will log onto Atlantic from every other shard to get a crack at this item if it's made available only to Atlantic players.

It's one thing to plant a flag on Atlantic say at Luna or Britain Bank to fly overhead, and then it's a completely other to hand out an item from what it sounds like will be a very sought after item.

If I was on another shard and heard Mesanna is handing out a Skull & Crossbones Flag I'd be pissed off. Seriously pissed off! A pirate flag is something players have been clamouring for for quite some time.

FYI I've played on Atlantic almost exclusively for the past 6 months. Anyone can go look at that Revert thread and see I was one of the players making the biggest stink and most noise about the lack of communication and that there should have been a total revert for ALL shards.

My point is I'm on Atlantic and I felt the effects of the revert but I think it's BS to hand out an item like this just to Atlantic.

I lost a whole character and countless gold. I was happy with only the gametime and i really think if nothing else had been said, there wouldn't be an issue with anyone else.

With that being said, afterwards it was said we would also be getting a pirate flag which was never delivered. I think for the most part, some people feel lied to since it's been SO long.
