Spell Focus Sash

I couldn't find too much info on these. I just have two questions.

The first five spells I cast on a monster will do less damage without using the sash, the 6th spell is equal to not using it, but then the spell damage increases after that.

Does the spell damage increase work on WOD

and

will I get positive spell damage for every spell casted on that same monster after the 6th spell or is it limited?

It worked with WoD when that sash got released, but after a publish it didnt work anymore and I dont know why. But imo spell damage increase from the sash SHOULD work with Word of Death...

it is a cycle of 21 spells if I remember the last 5 spells will be boosted at +20% SDI , so the trick example at navrey was to do 16 quick spells like magic arrow or fireballs then chain up with 5 flamestrike or 5 Word of Death if its near death but last time I tested WoD wasnt affected by the sash, need a fix.

Also make sure you enable the spell focusing on the sash. I didn't know this till recently ...whoops. Once you single click sash and enable it shows it buff bar now too. Thought I would mention in case anyone else wasn't aware of how it worked.

I'd love to hear what the exact thing is with these. is it 5 spells are low, then 5 spells are normal, then 5 high, or is it really a 21 spell cycle?

I keep hearing the pvp goons in chat talk about the sashes which leads me to believe their is a new "trick" with massive spell damage.

According to Logrus(he developped that sash)

Conclusion , for warrior overall after the 21 hits cycle it deals +90% damage
and for mage after 21 spells cycle it deals +120% damage
I always thought it was the last 5 spells which were at+20% sdi but looks like its the last 6 spells.. I think I'll test it again and test WoD again. If it doesnt work with WoD, I'll report it as bug because WoD need to work with spell damage increase.

Also keep in mind that fighting multiple enemies at the same time will reset the chain. Only use the sash on single enemies otherwise your killing your damage.

Nm it's the "Focus gem" which is added to weapons does:
-50, -40, -36, -24, -16, -8, 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 ,20 stays at 20 for 5 hits, then resets.

The "Spell Focus" sash starts off at
-30% Damage Modifier

-30, 70, 76, 82, 88, 94, 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, 110..etc... up to 130%, then resets back to -30% above 100, it seems to only go up by 2% per spell...

21 spells before the first reset.

so you get 5 spells lower than normal damage, 1 spell at normal damage, and 15 spells 2-30% more damage.
resets when you switch targets, and weapons hit-spells count as a casted spell towards increasing damage done by the sash.


Edit: The spell focusing sash gives you a message once you reach 120% damage modifier,saying; 'your sash reaches peak potential', it still builds up to 130% according to the buff icon though... (may be a bug), didn't notice a difference in damage, because I was testing it with long-distance harm :D

A few more points.
Also keep in mind non-damage spells do not affect the focus target or the focus level. (So you are free to curse/para/heal cure other targets without using your focus target)
(Not sure hit spells trigger the focus effect so if someone could verify that before taking it as a given)

Regarding weapons:
The focus effect stacks with non-direct damage specials.

For weapons, does the Focus Gem increase AI pvp damage above the 35 dmg cap?

It will make AI do around 1/2 damage the first hit unless it was changed from when I wasted a focus gem on a weapon. It made me so much less damage overall if I used bush or chiv or a slayer. If you don't have a slayer weapon and didn't honor the target or use enemy of one you will see some damage bonus.

It shouldn't be working on AI, but if it is imposing a dam penalty on AI, then AI will also get the bonus, so you should be able to get some 42 dam AI's in there.

It -shouldn't- be affecting AI, but if you are getting the reduction on an AI, you're also going to get the bonus as well.

If you are already at the damage cap in PvM a focus gem weapon enabled will provide no benefit. (See the 120 Chiv thread in Warrior forums for a discussion about focus weapons after the chiv stuff)

What about WoD Logrus, it is indeed a direct damage spell but WoD is affected by SDI and spell focusing sash provide SDI% bonus. So could you enable it for WoD please?

and is modified damage spells similar to damage modifier mod on quivers and wings that its calculated after all resists counted? Does the sash goes over the sdi cap in pvp?

Yes. It does allow you to go over cap in PvP
(Its like a slayer mod, which affects your total damage rather than your base damage)

Maybe with UOA or scripting in the EC. Its a context menu option so not sure about how to stick it in a macro.
