This idea for a type of vet reward system just hit me

As it stands now,vet rewards are only given annually according to account age. I suggest that monthly or trimonthly gift that would be account bound and blessed. The items would be like the ephemeral items that can be earned. These items would have a one to three month timer on them from the time they are chosen from the menu.They may or may not be stronger than the current items they will emulate. A list of items that could be offered as 'lesser vet rewards' would be as follows:

~Mining shovel or pickax with unlimited uses. Blessed.Three month (90 days) timer.
~Ax or hatchet with unlimited uses (for Siege type shards).Blessed. Three month timer.
~Sewing kit-unlimited uses. Blessed.Three month timer.
~Dovetail saw-unlimited uses.Blessed.Three month timer.
~Blacksmith hammer-unlimited uses.Blessed.Three month timer.

~Musical instrument with choice of slayer or super slayer.Unlimited uses.Blessed.One month (30 days) timer.
~Choice of weapon and type of slayer or super slayer with 100% of the element that damages the target most .No durability(can't break but can not be imbued or enhanced).Blessed.One month timer.
~Your choice of spell book with slayer or super slayer. 1fc 1fcr.10% lrc.5% lmc.2 mana regen.Blessed.One month timer.


~One use dye tub that can dye anything,even pets, from every color known in UO.From 1 to 9999.
~Ephemeral versions of all equipable Doom artifacts.Blessed.No durability. One month timer.

So,is it a good idea? Got something that would be a good fit for a 'lesser vet reward'? Lets see it.

I would lower the timers by quite a bit, maybe One Month for tools. Anything to do with Hunting in PvM should be limited 2 weeks. A dye tub that can color "anything".....I would rather not. The embarrassment of being killed by some PvP tamers Blaze Pink GD or Dreadmare, would make that death somehow suck a little more than usual. If the animal dye was temporary and vanished on death I might be more inclined. Only so that I could partake in the mass murder of ugly hue'd animals. The Doom artifacts need to be reworked very few are useful at all anymore.





-I would like a tool that allows 100% chance of smelting the precious Valorite ore that takes me months to accumulate. You'd think a smith who has worked with metals for umpteen years would be better at smelting then one who is only 2 months old.

-I would like to see more specific slayer on books/weapons/instruments like Ancient Wyrm or Balron that gave an even bigger bonus than Dragon/Reptile or demon slayer. Ooh or even a Champ Specific Slayer.

-Maybe after getting so many kills of certain creatures you could develop a type of buff against said creature?

"You are now Extremely Proficient at Vanquishing Mongbats" which gives a damage, luck, or resource bonus.
This bonus could last a week.


I like this topic, I hope others will comment on more ideas.

Why would you not want to a system of lesser vet rewards offered every three months of account activity?
