I had a feeling this was the right place to come with this.
way back pre imbuing and things, i used these gloves in a suit. They've been sitting in a container for years, and i recently did some cleaning/moving and ran across them again. In all that time i've never seen another item that ea did this to.

Wow, never saw anything like those before...any history as how you got them? Where they came from?
From what i remember, and this is going back a while, but the crafters name was illegal (it was a profanity with exclaimation points and question marks etc. no idea how they made that name, but i know there was a time when people could manipulate names) and someone paged on the name, and this was the result. I remember buying these gloves early in the barbed kit years just because i needed a piece with lmc/mr and high poison resist, and i thought the name was intriguing.... who knew the name would get even more intriguing lol.

There was 2 people i knew that had there name changed to that years ago on ATL, he had a bunch of armour with those names i think in the end they got deleted
I guess the GMs that i ran into on GL were much more forgiving than those your friend ran into, and rather than delete my armor, they gave me a unique item lol
Obviously if you made your name that, and crafted some gloves, that isn't the title they would have.

I would assume they would never be deleted... as right now there is no reason to delete them. The other guy suggested they were deleted because the crafter name, these were handeld in a different manner. He is suggesting someone made a crafter named "Removed by EA" i think. I dunno exactly what he means, but obviously if you named your crafter that and made some gloves, that isn't the title they would come out with.
I would refund if something strange happened and it could somehow be proved... but i think the other poster was overstating the issue. As mentioned, i wore these gloves in a suit for years, they were clearly visible for a very long time. If EA was going to delete them, they wouldn't of bothered to rename them.

Not sure why if that picture by DJad is the same gloves that they have completely different attributes. Unless you were simply posting to show the location of the crafter name on a random item.Cetric, I would suggest PM'n someone trusted from this forum to take pictures in both clients - both on and off. With the recent scams with renamed scrappers, folks are a bit jumpy especially when dealing with high amounts of gold.
When "made by" and "sewn" items were all on one line so if the crafter name was changed then, it would change the whole top line. (Not validating the OP's item, just providing a possible explanation.)
Mesanna validating that they won't be deleted might not be a bad idea as well.

Several years back, I found a pair of leggings on a vendor that were crafted by a player with an illegal name (the name was a bad website). The stats were perfect for my suit, but I didn't want to advertise such a site so I paged and asked about them. The end result is that I purchased the leggings and a GM came to remove the "crafted by" name. During the process - it seems the GM tool automatically removed the item name as well as the crafted by name and then the GM has to replace the actual item name.
Here - it seems that the GM never replaced the name.
In my case - the GM misnamed it so now I have a pair of leggings that are named as a pair of sleeves.
Here is a pic of it during the renaming process before the sleeves name was put back on. It was temporarily named "Updated by UO Staff". The ones in the OP look legit to me - for whatever that's worth.
Sorry for the large white area - I use two monitors and am not very good at removing the extra in MSPaint.
