Did you hear? The sky is falling! Publish 81 will ruin life as we know it despite the reassurance from Mesanna and the developers that they will listen to our feedback.

Yes, my poll is a joke. It is my attempt to lighten the mood of Uhall which has gotten so doomy and gloomy lately that it makes me want the sky to fall! Anyway, have fun with the poll and try and lighten up a bit, you are killing my buzz!

The thing that's has kinda annoyed me the most is the fact that in previous ask and answers sessions and producers letters they talk about vendor search, high res artwork etc. where have these got to?! - Not even a mention anymore. I would sooner have these changes first then the weapon / armour revamp.

In answer to the question lets just wait and see. I'd still like to see an answer to how many dev's PVP though. That was a valid question in my opinion.

It is funny,I have been playing UO since 2003(with a few breaks to pay wow/daoc and now rift) and it seems like every other week there has been a "the sky falling" type post from day one.But UO hasn't died while all the other supposed "UO killers" hae either died or gone to F2P(which is worse than death) and uo is still here for 15+ years.when I play other games I always find myself missing certain things in UO and I find myself coming back.UO has soo much more depth than all the other mmo's combined that it will truly be IMO the last MMO standing.

UO is like a loyal dog,no matter how long you have been away or how many other "dogs" you have played with it will always be there waiting for youwelcoming you home and happy to see you.

Normally I'm the one sitting in your position. "This stuff isn't as big a deal as it seems, you'll just have to work harder, adapt."

Normally I'm right.

This time, I'm one of the ones sounding the alarm bells.

No one should think this change is just about PvP, no one should think it's "PvPers vs. these changes."

All ten people PvPing might quit, oh no.
If they made PVP more interesting with good game mechanics (like a good version of faction based PVP) I'd be more than happy to join in and give the 10 PVPers that are left despite years of neglect someone else to play with.

PvP is actually fairly fun and, IMO, fairly well balanced. There are slight upsides for one temp vs another but nothing that is so over powering that it should make anyone hide. Certainly there are minor things that should be looked at but nothing that is game breaking or so I think.

Factions was fun if for nothing else that it gave a winner and a loser to each encounter but this has gone the way of the dodo bird.

I am on a substantive level totally bewildered by the way some are casting this as "PvPers vs these changes."

On a tactical level I understand it, I guess. If the changes go through, it's the "Trammies'" fault, and if they don't go through, then it's a claimed victory for PvPers.

But on a substantive level it is not only PvPers opposed to the changes and there are plenty of non-PvP reasons to be in opposition to the changes. I've been clear that I understand the changes will disproportionately impact PvP, but we're talking about a matter of "really major impact" to "somewhat more than really major impact."

This is not about PvPers, This is about all Warrior Class chars (PvP/PvM). There is no Fellies v Trammies. There is all Warriors v UO. Warriors for the win. WOW it has been a long time when so many players have stood as ONE. AoS/PUB 81

I agree but I keep reading things that suggest to me that folks somehow think this is a PvP thing.

I can say for a fact that this was not a PvP thing, that it hit all warrior class in all of UO equally.

Just a heads up the stamina issues will be addressed with the next publish to TC. Leather armor will be restored to its current state in production. I want to thank everyone who has submitted feedback so far and look forward to reading more of your posts.

The down side of over the top changes like is is:

1. Rarely do the Devs truly consider and change things based on community feedback... Factions is a prime example.

2. While the changes may not be significant to the entire player base, they are significant enough to some of the playerbase that they leave the game. I promise that the number of people who will leave if these changes are put through us greater than the number that these changes bring in... Leaving the game with fewer players than before. Little by little it will eventually kill this game... This may not be the straw that breaks us, but it is one straw closer.

I think its fair to say that each of those moments DID have an effect on the game. Whiles its true that saying "xxx" be it a change in the game, or another game that will take players away, or whatever is going to "kill" the game is probably a little silly and reactionary, those events DO have an effect. I don't think anyone can deny UO is at an all time low for player base right now, so avoiding really divisive and silly changes is probably a good idea. Yeah, uo has always been here like a loyal dog, but no matter how loyal your dog is there WILL come a day that it dies. Eventually the sky will fall. But that's ok, its just natural.

And of course I have to disagree about f2p. Thats just how games are now. There are likely to be no subscription games in the future.
