Riding swipe bug or intended?

I've always known that there has been a glitch where if you get riding swiped you can animal form right away to get away.

But tonight I saw something I haven't ever seen before.

Someone was riding a hiryu, they riding swiped me (i was a gargoyle) and then they instantly got back on their mount. I mean it was instant. I'm going to go test it on a shard where I have a bushido dexer.

Yea I just tested it on a different server and its definitely bugged. I was able to dismount someone and instantly get back on mount.

That needs to be fixed, like ASAP in Pub 81.

Pub 81 wont be out for a while. If it is in fact a bug, it needs fixed sooner.

This is working as intended if I'm understanding your description correctly. The inability to remount after being dismounted is applied to the target of the attack, not the attacker.

Edit: Were you unmounted or mounted when you initiated the attack?

So it is deliberately different than other dismount options, like a bola, that apply a mount timer to the attacker as well as the attacked.

Riding swipe typical use: When mounted the first strike paralyzes the victim, the attacker then dismounts, and uses Riding swipe again which now dismounts the victim (who should be unable to remount), however the attacker in this instance is able to remount without having to wait like the victim. An example: bolas flag both the attacker and the victim.

What I believe Lynk is trying to illustrate is that the attacker can dismount his victim, then remount instantly, and chase said "footed" victim down.

Does this also apply to the special move "Dismount", so you would beable to dismount someone and you (the person who used dismount) are able to re-mount, while your target has a re-mount "cooldown"?

Edit: If so, this is a huge buff for dexers !!

Now all that needs to be done, is allow Spell-casting while special weapon moves are toggled.

Does this also apply to the special move "Dismount", so you would beable to dismount someone and you (the person who used dismount) are able to re-mount, while your target has a re-mount "cooldown"?

We have confirmed the issue with riding swipe and have entered a bug into the system. Riding swipe should be behaving in a similar manner to regular dismount. We'll see this fixed in our upcoming publish. Thanks for the report!

Did you really not realize that dismounting someone gave you a dismounted timer as well?

Wow, I guess I haven't dismounted anyone in a really long time.

I remember fellows dismounting with bladed staffs then jumping right back onto their own mounts. Was this changed, hence the uproar here, or has it really just been so long that I'm not remembering it properly?

I could never manage it myself, though....But I didn't often have to. Dismount, box in, armor ignore, armor ignore, hope I survived the lesser hiryu hitting me, armor ignore.

I think it was over looked as people used the dog over the hiryu for the last few years. I can't recall if you need taming for the greater and bush for the lesser or the other way around. Those greaters use to be a riot when the special would go off.

Must have been the bush for the lesser....hrmm.

Yeah.

This was some years ago during my thankfully brief time as the one dude who remembered to bring a dismount weapon.

I used to kinda like dismounting samurai archers from their lesser hiyus.
