Need help with Billing

Just had 1 of my accts closed due to "declined" credit card (this BS is getting old!). Went in and tried reactivating the acct but it won't let me use the same CC and it's the only 1 I have. What can be done?

did you try from different locations?
My credit card got denied, if I entered the information from work, but as I tried this from home, it worked.
It is highly annoying, that a CC, which has been good for payment before, suddenly is denied, not autorenewed, whatever. (This did cost me indirectly a full house on ATL a while ago :-( )
One should think, EA wants to earn money, but they are making it really difficult to believe that.

One thing to remember about a declined card. It is not always EA/Origin. And not always the bank, it kinda falls in between. Many banks have fraud programs that sometimes mistakenly auto-decline recurring payments for online subscriptions, including game subscriptions. It never makes it to the point where the bank can see it as a declined charge. And many credit card companies are completely stopping those types of charges being allowed all together. I have 2 cards from companies that no longer allow payments for recurring online subscriptions. I contacted them asking if there was a way to set up my account to allow this, or something I could sign saying I was really requesting this. They both told me no, that due to these types of charges (it also includes things like online porn site subscriptions) they lose a lot of money each month, so the best way they found was to not allow them at all. One of those cards I cannot even use it to purchase from the Origin store. My monthly subscription has also run into my normal banks fraud system a few times. The bank did not show it declined, because it didn't actually go that far. That one was easier to fix, with my bank I could go and sign a form to allow all charges for the same amount to go through from EA. The only downfall to this is if for some reason there was a fraudulent charge from EA I cannot dispute it with the bank.

Not saying that this is the case all of the time, but it is many times.

I noticed you said 1 of your accounts. Maybe your cardholder looks at it being billed mutiple times if its not EA/Orgin side issue.

You could call EA CS and see if they could help with the issue. In the long run you may be better off just buying gametime cards to avoid the headaches.

Call the support number, but it will be a painfully slow process. Last week I tried to update my credit card address because I was getting charged taxes, but live in a sales tax free state now ($18/6months extra). There wasn't an option to edit the card. So I tried adding the same one, but that can't happen because the numbers are the same. There isn't a way to delete the card and re-add it so I was stuck.

I made four phone calls to the number in the sticky waiting 30 minutes each time on hold throughout a day. Finally got a fellow and he manually went into my accts and updated the address.

Too many hoops for me to jump through willingly, the acct will just stay closed. It's not the card or bank as my other 4 accts are currently on the same CC and no issues for years. Screw it if they don't want my $.

Totally understands your feelings on it. Nobody should have to go through these issues especially when you are trying and willing to give them monies to boost their profits. I could imagine if this happens to 1 million customers of EA on a sub par billing system and they followed your footsteps makes you wonder if they try to fix iut then or not.

Well your gunna have to do the same as me start buying game time cards.. Stupid EA wont auto renew or accept my cc info either.
Yes it's the same cc i use to buy game time with dun even try to figure that out.
Oh i fergot dev's can't help as it is a EA thing, and they dun care unless your decideing on buying a console game.. even then i wonder if they do care?

Had similar issue. Can't even buy game time from the Origin store because it is the same cc. It wasn't our bank either, it is definitely Origin in our case. I guess once a card is declined for whatever reason they want a new one instead of just trying again. Problem is that not everyone has 3-4 cards to just flip through until one works.

I had the same problem as you guys. I sent a message to Jeff (from the UO team) asking if he could recommend any 3rd party websites to buy gametime. He told me to check out http://www.paybycash.com/uo/codelist.php as they have a few of the different UO codes. They are a bit more expensive than normal but I had no issues in using my card that was being declined on the proper EA mythic site.
