So anyway, just to talk about something besides Publish 81 until they come up with the next iteration, I thought I'd ask about this. A lot of times it seems like the developers don't know what to give us as loot/artifacts. They want to add things we'll desire, but they can't just keep throwing more and more powerful weapons and armor into the game every patch or game balance will rapidly get out of hand. So we end up getting, you know, a lot of random stuff nobody wants. That sword Exodus drops didn't exactly set the world on fire, for example.
So let's suggest some things we'd like which would not upset balance.
* More belt-slot items. It's been like 8 years since Mondain's Legacy added the Crimson Cinture and in that entire time we've seen a whopping one additional item for that slot. These new items don't even need to be better than the Crimmy or Tangle, they just need to be different. They can even be worse. Wouldn't it be nice if people who didn't want to spend 20-30 mil on a Crimmy/Tangle could go buy something else for like 5-10 mil?
* Speaking of which, why not make items with the SAME stats as Crimmy and Tangle but make them look like belts and not aprons. I'd ditch my Crimmy in a second for a version that didn't make me look like I was about to bake cookies.
* More cloaks with stats. Not stupid robes that cover up your armor, but cloaks, like the Shadow Cloak of Rejuvenation and such. There are very few such items and pretty much none of them even drop currently. Again, these don't even need to be better than current items. There's room in this niche for more than one or two uber-items.
* Same with sashes. Similar/lesser items, maybe some that have the same stats as existing items but look like tunics or something. Get some of those wacky Stygian Abyss item properties in there, you know, surge stamina regeneration, resonance, stuff like that.
* Boots, shoes, earrings, stuff like that. Don't put any big stats on these items, just little things. A point or two of this, a point or two of that. You know, 2% casting focus on an earring or something.
* Vanity pets/companions! More stuff like that 'ferret trapped in crystal' or whatever. Copy the code for the personal attendants and modify it so we can have, I dunno, a squire or a slave or something. A wisecracking talking dog, a cat that emotes licking itself, whatever. Come on, you know "Wisecracking Talking Dog" would get a lot more enthusiasm than "Another Crappy Sword With No Leeches".
