Retrieve ?

After reading Jade of Sonoma's ordeal I too was unaware of this "retrieve "command. I was hoping to find info on how it works and how to use it. I had no luck in game or on stratics, anyone mind shooting me a link or basic instructions?

Single click the locked down item and select retrieve from the context menu.

But as Merus said, you want to use the context menu on said item, similar to how you would use the context menu on your player in order to insure an item or get the insurance menu.

Also when you retrieve an item,it will go into your pack,so make sure you have room and that it isn't too much for your pack to hold. I wish the retrieve command would work like the moving crate by moving really heavy items such as stacks of wood or ingots at my feet in the same locked down condition from where I moved it from. That would make taking the heavy item up a couple of stories very easy.

Now if they will add a Place command to position and secure/lock down an item so it's safe from being grabbed and ran off with between being placed and the secure or lockdown macro being pressed. The job is only half done Devs.

That is what Commodity Deed boxes are for.

I think the "retrieve" option is ridiculous and should have never been added. How much more must we stupidfy this game? Simply use detect hidden on yourself in your home to reveal anyone sneaking in. The dev's have surely outdone themselves in ruining the last viable form of stealing left in the game.

I think it needs a verbal command such as: "I wish to retrieve this" So it is on par with all the others.

Nope, 'Retrieve' can be acessed via context menu too.

Experiment with retrieve' on various items. EG:
I haven't tried "retrieve" on a bag or chest .
1. If the chest is too heavy for me to carry, will I get a message saying warning you?
2. Can a whole chest or bag full of items be retrieved?
There are many things I haven't tried yet.

I do know some items have to be released and then axed. Those pop into your backpack when axed:
Eg: Virtue Tiles, carpets/rugs/polar bear rug. Gartden shed, Fountain of life - etc.

It would be a much better command if it let you choose how many of the item to put in your pack.

If you can't hold the item you try to Retrieve it'll just tell you so and do nothing

So did this "retrieve" update also make it so you don't have to release a container to switch it from a "Locked Down" container to a "Locked Down & Secure" container?
I just noticed that saying "I wish to lock this down" on a "Locked Down & Secure" container changes it to "Locked Down" container.
And saying "I wish to secure this" on a "Locked Down" container changes it to "Locked Down & Secure" container.

This wasn't possible before, not sure before when, you used to get a message stating that the item was already locked down or secure. Wonder if it happened around the time "newbied" items could be locked down and not decay, when an entire container was locked down, not the individual item. I know it if you drop a newbied item in a container that is currently locked down some message appears that you are unable to do it.

I really like this for adding more items to my heavy Locked Down display containers.

This change really should have a confirmation window, a 'yes' 'no' thing that pops up. Too easy to accidentally pull deco off the walls.
