Paged over 50 minutes ago in game, items still looping through the air non stop, and no GM response.did oyu page in game?
Are they re-arranging their backpacks or are they picking up items from the ground?Idoc 20 minutes ago, but desirable items still flying thru the air.
Your mad because you did not get all the loots? Just because things got looted doesn't mean it was "scripted". I know some expert idocers that loot better than the rest of them so if you think someone is scripting page a gm otherwise make a poll on stratics and hand out tissues.Time for a little venting!!
It was actually exciting to see so many people at this idoc, anticipating what items they may get as so many things were visible laying on the ground. Nice rubble bench, million dollar checks piled high, old deeds and sooo much more. The moment the walls came down, pretty much everything on the floor was instantly gone. you could see things flying through the air repeatedly and you knew, you had been scripted!!
I have to say, at this moment, I am pissed off. Greed is a horrible thing and for some, they make billions!! but you are cheating your fellow guild mates, alliance members, friends and all those who are equally entitled to reap the rewards of an idoc... Who are you, "the scripter" to feel you are entitled to take everything you possibly can through the means of cheating, when others have stood around for hours. They too are just as deserving as you seem to think you are!!. It equally burns my ass at those, who attempt to protect the people they know are scripting as this action shows others you agree with what is being done, so you are no better!
I do not know if anything can ever be done about this type of thing but I for one really hope this is investigated and something is done, rather than a slap on the wrist, keep the items but get a 72hr suspension!!
This reminds me of when Doom became available. Scripters would loot a fallen dark father so fast and run to the next room that the loot would follow behind them like a train.Idoc 20 minutes ago, but desirable items still flying thru the air.
Like I said "venting" and I knew it was just a matter of time before someone posted, with the "assumption" one is mad because they did not get the loot!. The point is simple. "cheaters will cheat as long as they can get away with it and something needs to be done about it, rather than make excuses for it and there is no mistake here, it was scripted and a big thanks to the GM's who showed up!!Your mad because you did not get all the loots? Your right, but if its done like I posted in # 13 Mesanna, or the gms can be hidden there watching, and no one will know they are there even the player who sent the information on the house. Question now is would you use a looting scripted knowing there might be mesanna there, or a GM would you chance it?You do know as long as the person is sitting at their keyboard and watching their screen the chances of being caught using a script are slim to none? As long as the person gives a response to a GM when questioned there is nothing the GM's can do. Sadly this is everyone's fault. UO attempted to use programs such as punk-buster. Overwhelmingly the player base said no, in turn welcoming cheating with open arms. It is 100% impossible to detect a script without such measures as punk-buster so long as the script doesn't interfere with packets.
No it's not <laughs> All they have to do is monitor the data stream from your client. It is 100% impossible to detect a script without such measures as punk-buster so long as the script doesn't interfere with packets.
Not sure how moving an item around in your bag qualifies as a script. The graphic of seeing items move in the air that is being moved in your bag is a very old bug from the beginning of the game.Idoc 20 minutes ago, but desirable items still flying thru the air. I got a question
Ive had this happen, and I would like to know if this also might have happened to anyone else.
You place a item you have looted in your main back pack at a idoc. once your done looting you recall out to drop the loot off, and that item you know was in your back pack is gone? As that happened to you?
Items that are moved within your backpack are usually seen in close proximity to your character. These items were streaming at 120 times a minute from 5 to 12 tiles away towards one hidden character detectable by tracking skill. My gut instinct still screams script looter.
What they had in place, I'll never know. There may be ways to circumvent the protections. What has been occurring on Napa this last week finally forced me to page on the possibility GMs could visualize what we've suspected for a long time, and take appropriate actions. Not going to blame them for failing to prevent it, but would be sorely disappointed only if they didn't heed our pages. There is room for improvement, Woot. Then your gut should ask your brain to ask the devs if this provision is still in place:

Items that drop from the IDOC will have protections against scripted looting
Yes please, waste our GM resources on your misguided perceptions of your observations of game mechanics. What they had in place, I'll never know. There may be ways to circumvent the protections. Still not a sign of a scripter. This is very common to see at IDOCs, especially very crowded/popular ones with tons of items.Items that are moved within your backpack are usually seen in close proximity to your character. P.S. I never insinuated hiders are scripters, I hide too sometimes.
As for items looted that seem to disappear from packs, happens a lot if you have numerous people trying to pick up the same item. Simply a glitch. One person really gets the item and the other gets the false image that goes away.I got a question

Over an hour (well after the event) of continuous repeated flight from 5 to 12 tiles away is not common. If my perceptions are misguided, the GMs can observe and do nothing. Honest players shouldn't feel threatened by a responding GM. It's not my call to judge, but I will report based on what I observe.Still not a sign of a scripter. Whether or not you believe it is common, it is still not a sign of scripting or cheating. But you should indeed you should page if you believe there is someone breaking the rules. But repeated paging is a waste of time if it's for the same activity in the same location as GMs will never disclose any actions they take.Over an hour (well after the event) of continuous repeated flight from 5 to 12 tiles away is not common. Simply replying to your comments, like you're doing with me. You seemed so content on convincing us that what you are experiencing was clear signs of scripters and I am disagreeing with you. If you don't like that, *shrugs* get over it.Why are you so intent on belittling my actions? Actually just action; I only paged once.
Ok, trying to convince you won't matter in the long run, and we can disagree on what has transpired. As a player we can choose to cheat via scripts, dupe, and even hack, or we can play the game honestly. The report was handled. Ball is in the Dev's and GM's court to play with as they wish.
I do admire Lady Michelle's suggestion to send prior notification of IDOCs with large amounts of rares that attract script looters. If we put our heads in the sand as some folks prefer, cheaters will prosper. That is what motivates me.
Your still incorrect. A script is not detectable so long as it is used while attended. Scripts only manipulate client side actions. Without the use of a punk-buster type program scripters will always be here. Now, I don't use them, but if I were to use them to answer your question: I would be fine using them in front of Messana or 1000 GM's, thats how undetectable they are.Your right, but if its done like I posted in # 13 Mesanna, or the gms can be hidden there watching, and no one will know they are there even the player who sent the information on the house. No it's not <laughs> All they have to do is monitor the data stream from your client.
Jobo is in Minoc, takes his three steps, his client sends the data, and what the heck?! He's now in Trinsic?! Definitely not normal game client/system behavior.
IDOC falls, client sends data to server, what a minute!? Jobo picked up and placed 72 items into his backpack in 3.7 seconds?! Definitely not normal game client/system behavior.
Either case is an obvious script. Ban the account immediately.
Then the scriptors promptly write new exploits for the EC so "ya have the need to shut down the client known as" EC.Than ya have the need to shut down the client known as 2d. Every exploit out there revolves around 2d.

Just a quick question for ya popps.... When your driving along & the speed limit is 60 mph, yet everyone seems to be driving @ 64 do you get annoyed because those other drivers have an unfair advantage? I mean ...... the limit is 60 that's THE LAW. How dare they go faster! Those cops are out there pulling over people going 80+ but you just creeping up to 64 is impossible because it's BREAKING the law! The point is you should have long since made up your mind on this topic & talking about it hasn't worked b4 so I don't see why it will work this time. Alas.... I forgot who I'm addressing. Talking about pointless stuff......I have always hated looting scripts, I have always hated scripting in general but it is many years now that I have seen not much changes. I even asked that if stopping scripting was not technically feasible or worth doing, then the official policy be changed from being scripting illegal to be made as legal so that all players playing UO would finally be able to play it on an equal footing but neither I have seen scripting stopped nor I have seen it be made legal for all players. And I do not understand it.
I cannot understand the current policy. Is it illegal ? Then stop it. Cannot or do not want to stop it ? Then make it legal for all players. Either one would be better then what we curently have which sees players playing the same game at a disadvantage because some use scripts and some do not, IMHO.
ummm dunno if you know this or not but when you move items around in your backpack , sometimes it gives them the look of flying through the air to others...transfer tokens are really bad to do this....just stand at luna bank sometime youll see itIdoc 20 minutes ago, but desirable items still flying thru the air. It is not uncommon at all to see an item move though the air when it is being moved around in a pack, especially from a hidden player... however, when that exact item moves at the same 2 second intervals for more than an hour it does not stand to reason that this was a player activally at his/her pc purposely moving an item. Most are correct that a script run while attended can not be proven by looking at the data stream... most scripts do not do anything that a normal player can not do manually. That said, a character that stands in a single spot and trys to pick up the same item every second or two for hours on end would be highly suspect of scripting. I was at the IDOC in question and saw the behavior for well over an hour before the GM's showed up and it was clear to me as a player that what was happening was a computer program that had somehow gotten hungup.ummm dunno if you know this or not but when you move items around in your backpack , sometimes it gives them the look of flying through the air to others...transfer tokens are really bad to do this....just stand at luna bank sometime youll see it
