retattering

seems all my tmaps went tattered after 3 days or so in a top level container secured.
all sub containers that have tmaps have never tattered.
do they tatter on the 15 of each month or after 30 days individually?
and if you dont want them to re-tatter is all you have to do is put them into sub containers?

I was under the impression it was a 30 day individual thing, although I must admit I only popped into this thread to find out what the heck retattering meant hehe. Also, Mollie is still wearing that excellent fencing ring you gave her xxx

To the best of my knowledge a map location resets after 30 days after it has been read, if not dug.
I've never actually timed it, I just took what we were told in publish notes. I do know that maps in a box inside a secured bag have re-set.
Rumpy. A tattered map hasn't been read. A re-tattered map means the location has re-set. I tend to leave maps that are in nasty locations in hopes of a better spot when it 'retatters' (which I think is a word Lord Dog just invented )

Yes, the tMaps reset after 30 days. The facet stays the same but you will get a new random location upon re-decoding the map. So if you don't like the location simply put it in a chest to wait it out. As for the spawn on a level two map, I don't know. I no longer waste my time on anything less than a level six. Also, I've never seen them say "re-tattered" every time mine reset they look as if I had just pulled them off of a corpse as loot.

retattered just means they reset back to tattered tmaps.
so how do you explain my maps?

Lorddog, it is confusing to me too. They "should" be resetting after thirty. It may be possible to send in a bug report with your house coords and container info so the Devs can investigate. I see Messana helping people figure stuff out a lot. She has got to be the best addition to the UO staff in a decade.
