Mage Wpn Bows no longer spawn ?

I've been hunting since the last patch, and haven't found a single one. Over 1k items so far, and a not a single Mage Wpn property on any type of bow, in any intensity. Is this by design ?

I've had two drop (one a dragon slayer) in the last few days given their position in my loot chest. Probably 80% of my looting comes from fishing and t-hunting, so make of that what you will.

I've had them drop a few times nothing spectacular though. Thing is it doesn't bother me much since most mages run one handed weps to chug and sc no- balanced -Mage is kinda heavy to fit much else

Pvp mages don't qualify as "most mages."

Well what PvM temp would use a balanced Mage bow as an efficient weapon? Out of curiosity

ive used one on my tamer with great results no balanced though hes a tamer if i need pots im doing something wrong.but yea spell casting/gd/ and arrows = tripple threat in my book always got me up there amongst top dmgrs too so good for drops in a group.in fact i really only used it for large group hunts to give me an edge dmg output.

I thought you could make a -20 mage, SC(neg), 25 DCI, balanced bow...pretty sure I busted one out for a friend who attempted to make a suit to fit this weapon in.

I think you can hit 35 DCI or HCI on a bow (or throwing weapon) with reforging. Mage Weapon is capped at -20 (no -15 for ranged weapons). I remember there was a bug with the intensity of 35 HCI/DCI being calculated incorrectly... Not sure if that was fixed.

I had quite a few drop last week while using a -29 Magery Wand to train Magery. Since I using one, I took notice of that Mod more than I would normally.

Well after making this post i continued to hunt and never got a single one. This is on Siege by the way, although I wouldnt think that would matter.

Boss hunting tamer/mage/weaver.

Magery 120 (for utilty and healing pets)
Taming 120 (pet does the damage)
Animal Lore 110
Vet 110 (with enhanced bandage)
Spellweaving 120 (WoD!!!)
Bushido 50 (bow is used to get in 10 hits for the +1000 Bushido luck bonus, then unequipped immediately)
Meditation 100

Wearing full Luck suit.
With +magery items to offset MW penalty, and as much HLD and HCI as possible.

Ok, bow doesn't really need to have the Balanced property

Who said it had to be balanced? You're thinking pvp mage again. Pve mages don't need a free hand for potions.

Eh ya sry didnt mean to say balanced..but still I don't see the advantage over using a -15 Mage bow on a PvM character..you obviously don't have tacts and anat, and it wouldn't make sense on a Mage with eval cause the book would do way more damage so what kind of template gives a real bonus to it over wearing say a luck shield and weapon, how much damage does the bow do with no tacts or anat 20-30 and with no dex how often? Not putting it down just curious why the choice that's all.

100% right you are, it irritates me to no end seeing pve mages with Eval not using slayer books. The only mage I have that I use a bow on is my bard. She has no Eval so I just use an imbued mage bow with hit lightning. Generally the bow hits for like 9 damage and the lightning for like 12-15. It's slow and low damage but its better than nothing and on bosses it adds up with the added advantage of granting me defensive dodge.

I have yet to try replacing the hit spell with a slayer, it would increase the damage but it would still be pathetic lol.
